    You are right - the waves do look like lace!

    Indrani -
    It's always pretty at Ocean Beach - a nice expanse of sand but too cold and too dangerous for swimming.

    Irredento Urbanita -
    Our beaches are very often foggy and overcast, even in summer months and the water temperatures are about 55 degrees F.

    CARMEN -
    You don't see many people on this beach - too chilly out right now!

    Cildemer -
    After 34 years of living in the San Francisco area, with the Pacific at my door, I don't think I could live away from the ocean. It's an essential part of my life.

    Dulce -
    The ocean is beautiful and, with the winter storms, we've had some high surf. Sadly, our area is not good for swimming...undertows and rip tides.

    Lisa -
    I so love Charleston. Funny, I'm originally from GA but I never visited there until after I'd moved to California!!

    Sukhmandir Kaur -
    I am so lucky to live less than about ten minutes drive from several lovely beaches. I often walk near the shore when I need to clear my mind and to relax.

    secret agent woman -
    Living so close to the Pacific is the best therapy in the world for me. I love it.

    Sharkbytes -
    I will really miss the proximity to the ocean if I have to move out of the area. I've lived so close for my 34 years here.

    Joanna Jenkins -
    Isn't it wonderful to be so close to the Pacific? I think we get spoiled! I drive by it on a daily basis, sometimes several times a day.

    Grandma's Goulash -
    I spend a good bit of my time strolling on the beach. It's so peaceful and helps me relax.

  14. Your pictures are lovely. I used to live in northern California and Pt. Reyes was one of my favorite places. I miss the ocean.

  16. The shore of San Francisco is magnificent.

    I bought collections of a lot of San Francisco photographs in Stanford University.
    They are my treasures.
    This shore seems to be scenery carried by it.

    Your hometown always shines!!

    Thank you.

  18. WATER

    Water in a drop of rain,
    Water swirling down the drain;
    Water clinging to the trees,
    Water filling up the seas;
    Water frozen, water free,
    Water is the stuff for me!
