Extinguish My Fire - Magpie Tales #23 - Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Extinguish My Fire - Magpie Tales #23 - Tuesday, July 20, 2010

My head is full of torrid thoughts,
That never let me sleep,
Just when I find I'm dozing off,
Unbidden, in they creep.

I feel your lips caress my neck,
Your tongue soft on my breast,
I tremble, at the memories,
Of the things that you do best.

Your deeply probing kisses,
Always make me throb inside,
Until our passionate coupling,
Cannot be denied.

I arch my back to meet you,
And match your every thrust,
Enjoying every minute,
With unabandoned lust.

Here's to much more sex,
And far less treadmill time,
I think I like this exercise,
For a body more sublime.

  11. Oh, I love tomatoes too! You managed to name most of my favorite ways of consuming them. We grow several varieties. One is snow white cherry tomatoes. We've nicknamed them poppers because they rarely make it into the house. Most of the time we just "pop" them in our mouth straight from the plant. Divine. As was your poem.

I've been seeing those wonderful heirloom tomatoes at one of our local markets...just wish their price tags weren't so high!

    Larry -
So glad you enjoyed my poem. I wish you could share your vine ripened tomatoes as well! I have no place to plant them and not too much motivation, either. Thankfully, we have a great
    farmer's market.

    Brian Miller -
Even tomatoes inspire me to poetry!

I love Shirley Valentine! I've been to Greece several times and those men are so like that! I have the video and we have a girl's night once a year and watch it, drink lots of wine, eat like pigs and have a great time!

    Helen -
Glad you liked my tomato magpie! Can't wait to see what next week will bring.

    kathew -
Wish I could grow my own tomatoes instead of having to rely on the farmer's market for my fixes.

    Tumblewords -
I have to agree with you...fresh tomatoes, especially the heirloom variety, are my favorites.

    betchai -
I can write about tomatoes but I can't seem to do those really signifigant love poems the famous poets pen!

    Carrie Burtt -
So glad you liked my tomato verse!

    Tina -
Your white cherry tomatoes sound wonderful. I've never seen any of that variety. Home grown are so wonderful...I haven't had any in
years, just farmer's market ones and the usual grocery kind ( unless some of my friends who
grow them have mercy on me! ).

    signed...bkm -
I could go for a glass of that fresh tomato vodka mixture long about now, with a hefty splash of hot sauce!

    Ayie -
My friend in New Orleans told me she spent the whole day cooking and making her own fresh tomato sauce, Italian diced tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, and okra and tomatoes from a huge haul her husband made from the country. She got a huge kick out of my poem when I read it to her.

  16. Dear Carmen: A divine poem! The many roles the tomato plays, all the cultural character references and recipes I especially loved. And a little saucy with the Bloody Mary! Lovely fun!
