Pacifica, CA - Sundays in My City, Sunday, July 18, 2010

Pacifica, CA - Sundays in My City, Sunday, July 18, 2010

I was just driving around up and down Daly City and Pacifica streets, after a nice lunch at
American Sushi House, looking for potential blog photographs. I found myself close to the
ocean - which is never very far in this area - and ended up on a pretty deserted old road.
When I came to a sign that read, "rough road," I knew I should follow it and, oh, was I
rewarded. There, at the end, the most beautiful vista awaited me, with fields of wild
daisies growing profusely. There were a number of other folks parked in that spot, people
enjoying the scenery and having their lunch, chatting on cell phones, or just admiring the
view so it is, by no means, my very own. No matter, it is too lovely to selfishly want to
keep to myself. Yesterday, I went back and took my friend, Jo, so I'm sure she will also
share it on her blog.

  4. Looks like a lovely spot. That first shot is so well composed, with the swath of yellow at the bottom. Loved it!

  7. That first photo is beautiful enough to become a painting, a work of art.

Well, I guess it IS a work of art--changing-every-second-art...artist: GOD!

Thanks for the Sunday Serenity--for me, at least...

    PEACE!

  8. Glorious wild daisies, and a wonderfully rough looking coastline there (reminds me of the coast around here).

  9. It's true, sometimes the roughest roads give the greatest rewards. What a gorgeous place. How wonderful that you have already taken someone there to share. :)

  10. What a find...the bright yellow of the daisies framed by the dark blue of the Pacific. It makes a beautiful photo. I certainly understand why people would park there and contemplate the view.

  11. Great scenery shots. The one time I was in that area was many years ago before I had a digital camera. It is a beautiful location.

  18. Hello Carmen.

Magnificent time goes by in your blog. . .
"California" is the space that I love most.

I feel very small myself if I feel California.

I am very glad in your using photographs of my cherry blossoms.
    I am honored in it.

Neither the name nor the mark is in my photograph. You please use it as your thing.

All Landscape is things of God.
    I merely photograph them.

I will look forward to that I can offer wonderful cherry blossoms to you again next year....

    To friends around the world.
    From the Far East.
    Greetings.

    happened upon!

Thank you for the kind words. I was just lucky
    finding this beautiful spot!

    Mickle in NZ -
How nice that our coasts resemble each other. I
    think that's nice!

    Kirby3131 -
This spot will be one I will show off to all my visitors...of course, everyone will want to see the Golden Gate Bridge but this holds its own unique charm.

    steviewren -
I wish I could show this place to everyone! It is so special to me. I wonder what it will look like when there are no flowers in bloom...still pretty but the daisies make it really nice.

    R. J. -
It's hard to remember the days before digital cameras and how expensive it was to develop photos!!!

    Maggie May -
I think it's the nicest spot I've found in my 33 years on the West Coast and, every time I look at the photo, it gives me so much joy!

    Joanna Jenkins -
Once, I attended a wedding at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Nigel. There were all sorts of flowers in bloom there and a beautiful coastal scene which was almost an equal of this.

    alaine@éclectique -
It does look like a painting one of the impressionists might do. Too bad no local artists have chanced by here.

    secret agent woman -
I am in complete agreement with you - breathtaking describes this scene.

    Icy BC -
Wish you would come visit so that Jo and I could take you here!

    Life with Kaishon -
I am so happy you like my picture. It's good to share them.

    ruma2008 -
Your photography has always brightened my days and I've kept your cherry blossoms - you know when I use them, I always acknowledge the wonderful photographer who took them!

    Mrs. 4444 -
This is one time that curiosity did not kill the cat but gave handsome rewards.

    magiceye -
That's high praise coming from a photographer!

    BLOGitse -
So glad you liked my pictures this week!

    Tina -
I went back to this spot the other day and brought a friend to see it...just as beautiful
    as my first visit.

    Tara R. -
Sometimes it is well worth strolling off the beaten path!

    Sharkbytes -
Jo was just blown away when I took her here the other day. It is truly a beautiful place. I'm not sure what it looks like in winter but, even
without the flowers, I imagine it is lovely.

    steveroni -
I completely agree with you about that first picture. I'm going to use it as my blog header for awhile and I even sent it framed, to a friend, for her birthday.
