Monsoon Rains Continue in Mumbai - July 26 2013

I'd like to see a sunny sky,

Instead of clouds of gray,

But, alas, it seems a futile wish,

More rains are on the way!

Monsoon is wreaking havoc,

Commuters face delay,

Air traffic is being rerouted,

Such is life in old Bombay.

The weather outlook for the coming week,

Continues rainy and very bleak!

India Bound Once More

Two weeks from now,

I leave once more,

To spend six months,

On a distant shore.

I’ve a brand new shoulder,

And a grandchild, too,

I’ve seen friends and family,

And every doctor I knew. 

I’ve enjoyed good wine,

And eaten lots of steak,

Now I’ll feast on curries,

And the great breads they make.

Didn’t have a clue,

She debuted on April 14^th,

Not the day with taxes due.

Her Nana who is full of bliss,

I am a hundred miles north of my Daly City home, house sitting with my two

granddogs while my son, Alex, and his wife, Laura are spending eight days on

a two island vacation in Hawaii - four days on Oaha and four days on Kauai. 

It's Laura's first time in Hawaii though I've taken my boys there twice.

They are having a wonderful time and I am really enjoying the adoration of

these two doggies.  I can't believe how loving they are.  There is no question

in my mind that pets can lower one's blood pressure.  I have felt so relaxed

since I got here.  Taffy and Bucky are constantly with me, following me

from room to room and, of course, they hop onto that California king bed

at night to keep me company.  I'll really miss them when the kids get home!

Friday Flash 55 - The Nurse is Worse - June 10, 2011

I'm once again a patient,

And gumpy as can be,

Dragging around an IV pole,

Whenever I have to pee.

In spite of a shot of morphine,

And a pill I got for sleep,

I can't seem to get any shut eye,

For listening to machinery bleep.

And Seton Hospital blocks my favorite Facebook games!

Another spider bite! I woke up in the middle of the night last Friday to a severe stinging in my left ankle. By morning, my ankle and foot were completely swollen and I could hardly put any weight on my foot at all. I had hoped to wait until Monday to see my doctor but, when it kept getting worse and worse, I went to the ER Sunday night. They gave me IV and oral antibiotics and started me on a 14 day regimen. Today, I went back in to see Dr. Yan and she said, "You need to be admitted so we can give you multiple IV antibiotics." So that's my story. I really don't feel well. That's why I've been so poor about replying to your comments and reading blogs, which is almost my favorite pastime. Wish me well and, for those who pray, that might even be good!
 I definitely could use a few prayers.

I shouldn't have stayed awake till 2AM reading Patricia Cornwell!  Head on hands, I wait
wearily in front of my Melitta while it takes its time emptying the fortifying French Dark
Roast into my mug.  I add my Splenda and cream and prepare to take the first sip.  What
the heck! I forgot to put in coffee!

I saw the wierdest rabbit,

He was very strange to me,

I hadn't had a single drink,

So I was sober as could be.

With a really good audio book,

I'd like to make it last!
