  2. This is a big forsythia plant. So you have a lot of rain too? We are having a rain bomb. My hibiscus is dampened like yours.

  3. I love rain. We got some unseasonal rain due to a cyclone that passed through a neighboring state. Welcome respite from the summer heat.

  4. The plant is full of yellow :)

  5. I had forgotten the beautiful Forsythia! We had one in the UK, but they are not in Cyprus.
    Love your pic.

  7. I love them. When we lived at our other house the neighbor lady had them. When they were in bloom she always gave me some.

Don't you? It is very obvious.

  11. the rain and the mist makes the yellow and the picture really very dramatic, love it absolutely.

  12. I love forsythia. We are on different spring schedules - out forsythia blooms are long gone.

  13. First of all, congratulations on your poetry book publication! You must be extremely proud and happy this project is actually in your hands.

    Keep writing and sharing.

  14. The shape looks like a big dog sitting on his back - like a human. Kinda neat how I saw that right away. Probably the strangest observation.

  15. Self Sagacity - that is hysterical! I never even noticed the dog shape until you pointed it out!

  16. lakeviewer - I am very happy and excited to have the book out and I even sold my first copy, to a dear friend!

  17. I love this shot, and how you captured the rain. I didn't see a dog until I read the comments, but I see him now. Totally cool!

  19. Angie - no, the torrents didn't dampen the bright yellow color at all.

  20. Ann - actually, these pictures were taken a couple of months ago. The forsythia is long gone now. And so is the rain, for the most part.

  21. Shiju Sugunan - I, too, love the rain - though we don't normally get the deluges you do in your monsoon season. I got some great photographs of the Pacific, near my home, during our winter storms a couple months back. I love to see the waves crashing against the rocks.

  22. lina@home sweet home - I've always loved forsythia just because of its bright yellow color.

  23. Glynis - Is the weather too warm on Cyprus for forsythia to grow? I need to learn more about your adopted country!

  24. MJ - when I took this picture, I wasn't sure how the downpour would show up. I'm glad it was captured so well.

  25. Viki - when I was growing up in Georgia, we always cut forsythia branches in the spring and had them in the house. They lasted so well and added so much color to our home.

  26. Manang Kim - actually, these weren't my flowers - I was driving around Daly City and spotted them! They were taken in early March so these bushes are no longer flowering now, either.

    ReplyDelete
  27. rainfield61 - you aren't the only one who saw a dog in those bushes...I hadn't noticed till Self Sagacity pointed it out!

    ReplyDelete
  28. CafebyJW - I tell you, I got pretty drenched taking those photos that day!

    ReplyDelete
  29. RyHeAnNe - yes, it definitely was pouring that day, raining like crazy in my car window as I was trying to get that shot.

    ReplyDelete
  30. betchai - I was so lucky that day, I got a number of really good pictures for several memes and a few other shots.

  31. secret agent woman - these forsythia pictures are at least two months old! I think our bloom at the same time as yours - early spring..

    ReplyDelete
  32. Tina - isn't it funny that I never noticed that the bush looked like a dog, either, until it was pointed out to me!

    ReplyDelete
  33. manuela - I think I got some other good rainy shots that day - have to go look through my files!

  34. Never liked "yellow" until recently, I saw a brightly-colored yellow Harley sitting next to my scooter. The Harley looked just spectacular! The a yellow VW passed nearby, and now your "Yellow Monday" thing. Guess yellow CAN take it's place alongside my Green...at least for now!

YOU are a great photo-shooter. Enjoy ANY pictures you post, Thanks!

  35. Such beautiful flowers and looks like the rain was quite heavy. Great shot.

    Thank you for stopping by.

  36. Carmen, I see your book is already in Amazon... and of course it is already in my ordered items list in Amazon! They say they will deliver it on June or July, along with Joanne's book. I'll have to be patient!
    Regards.

  37. steveroni - I'm glad you're deciding to give yellow a chance. It's always been one of my favorite colors...so cheery. I didn't know Harleys came in yellow. That must have been quite a sight!

I'm so glad you like my photos. I'm not as creative as I once once in the non-digital era -
I've gotten a bit lazy with my digital camera, letting it do most of the work for me.

  38. fullet - you are too sweet! Now if you'll just get your book done, we can reciprocate the favor! Please email me your home address so I can send you my autograph on the labels I bought for that purpose and you can afix it inside the book when you get it. I don't know if I'll ever make it back to Spain, sad to say, to do it in person - though I have a feeling, if I do return, this time we would meet.

  41. Eden - it was really a downpour that day. I got soaked and so did the inside of my car - I'm surprised my lens didn't get wet!
