Camera Critters #267 - Granddog and Granddaughter - May 18, 2013

Since Harper Ann arrived on the scene, Taffy, though she  was adopted
minus her uterus, seems to be experiencing some maternal feelings.  At the
first whimper from the baby, Taffy runs to check on her.  She watches, with
what seems like concern, while Harper is fed, changed, and sleeping peacefully
again.

She looked so sweet one day, while Alex was holding his daughter, and Taffy
had her nose on Harper's head.

  7. Oh, Carmen, it looks like Harper Ann has a dog mama. I don't think spaying matters. In fact, I don't think sex matters. I used to have a big cat who loved babies, puppies, and kittens. He would let any of them climb all over him, all because my sister bought him a kitten of his own for his second birthday. When his kitten was all grown up, he used to disappear every morning for an hour, visiting neighbors who had babies or kittens or puppies.
I love this photo of Harper Ann and Taffy. It speaks volumes about interspecies love.

  9. Dogs can be so good with babies. I am told that the family dog wouldn't even let my grandmother get close to me until she was sure it was all right.
