While much of the country is still blanketed in snow, our wonderful weather last week
brought forth a glorious show of bright floral blossoms. All these pictures were taken
in Millbrae, California, which is about 18 miles south of San Francisco. It rained all
day today, though, and rain is forecast for the next few days so that will probably
eliminate most of the blooms. I had a wonderful time driving around, taking pictures.
I wish I knew the name of all these flowering shrubs and trees. The only one with
which I am familiar is the Japanese magnolia.

Oh carmen thanks so much for sharing all these beautiful spring blooms. I always wait for these on spring but this time around I missed it because I am still here in Manila for our vacation. I'm definitely taking baby around the neighborhood to snap photos the moment we get back there!

We've had such unusually warm weather, I guess the cherry blossoms could already be blooming, much earlier than we usually have the annual cherry blossom festival in Japantown.

It won't be long, Joan, till your trees are budding and the snow melts.
I'm pretty sure that the little pink flowers are cherry blossoms, and the yellow is definitely acacia and quite fragrant. Some people are allergic to it, but I am not. I lived many years in Sonoma County, north of San Francisco, and the acacia trees were always the first trees to bloom, and so welcome!

I captured a shot last night of a Japanese Magnolia tree, on my evening power walk and I want to post it on my Facebook page and let folks know what type of flower it is.
