I haven't got a sweetheart,
But I'm sending love your way,
And hope you have great plans,
To celebrate this special day.
Valentine's should be romantic,
Time for love and tender thought,
But it doesn't need to be,
A show of pricey things you bought.
I am very sure - the gift of love means more!
I am participating in Mr. KnowItAll's Friday Flash 55!
Check it out and join in the fun!
Thanks for your very beautiful post! Hope you will find your Valentine very soon.
ReplyDeleteMy companion and I don't have any plans for Valentine's day!

ReplyDeleteLove your valentines Thought.

I like your thoughts on Valentine's Day. The card and candy companies, the restaurants and the like all would like to think differently, but love is what it's all about. Although this one was appropriate, I've got a Valentine post coming out on Monday. Thanks for the visit!
ReplyDeleteCarmen Electra...
ReplyDeleteThank You so much for this Heart-Felt post.
Given with much Love..
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Yep. The pricey things don't mean anything in and of themselves. It's only when they are used to say "I love you" that they are worthy.
ReplyDeletehope you have a great valentines day...its not about the money spent but the heart with which your love is given...
ReplyDeleteDon't need a sweetie to be loved - I know there are many who think the world of you my dear.
ReplyDeleteRoses, hugs and some Chardonnay
I agree. Money often gets in the way. (but not alwasy... :)
ReplyDeleteLovely thoughts. Now could you maybe have a word with my husband? :)
ReplyDelete-C
Haven't been no stinkin' pricey things around here for a lifetime!
ReplyDeleteWise words! I agree.
ReplyDeleteLovely 55!
Carmen, I cannot be there...but I can be here. And from here, I can wish you love. Those roses are BEEYOOTEEFULL!
ReplyDeleteLove was the beginning...and shall be evermore, forevermore.
What's Chardonnay--grin!
Love, and PEACE,
Steve
you are quite correct. not a cent needs to be spent to show what someone means to you.
ReplyDeleteThe world is full of love.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what happens.
Valentine is with you.
Be happy.
And be in love.
You've got it so perfect Carmen! It has to be more of love and less of show-off.
ReplyDeleteA lovely Valentine. And lovely thoughts.

You're a sweetheart for stopping by! How about being my Valentine??
Alice Audrey -
Given for show only, those expensive gifts are meaningless - though, I suppose, they might come in handy in hard times!
Brian Miller -
I don't anticipate doing anything too special for Valentine's...maybe dinner in San Francisco at my favorite Thai restaurant - the owners are like my own family.
moondustwriter -
You are so nice and you say such sweet things. You are right, though, I may not have a Valentine but I do have wonderful friends.
Margaret -
Well, yes, somtimes, money can be a nice asset.

Your comment gave me a good laugh. Sometimes husbands just don't seem to get it, do they?

Now, this is perfect! I do like the showing things though. . .I am going to try to be a grown up and remember your words of wisdom.
ReplyDeleteIt does. The gift of love is so much more...
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful 55 m'dear and so true. :)
