Morning sky, the sun shines through,
With pleasing patches showing blue,
No chilling cold or ice or snow,
Just sun to warm the earth below.
Our thoughts are with our frozen nation,
We can sense their great frustration,
Immobilized by drifts of snow,
Stranded motorists, who cannot go.
Weather God, on our knees, mercy please!

ReplyDeletewhat a great 55 for so many miserably cold people across the land, however i have yet to see a poem dedicated to those of us who love the snow, clod and ice, i love being snowed in at home, i love being home with my family and some hot cocoa and making snow monsters!! love this weather and thank you weather gods, we needed this moisture to soak up in our lands this will make for a lush green spring and summer
ReplyDeleteHi Carmen! Sorry for the absence…
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot; great that the blizzard didn't reach you...
Well, it seems that Egypt is becoming a risky place to visit these days. So, let’s move and get to the other side of the Mediterranean: Côte d’Azur... Enjoy and have a great weekend!
The blues such contrast with the white clouds. Well done, nice writing as always.
ReplyDeleteHi Carmen, this is very beautiful. Happy weekend!

I really loved this sky shot...it's one of my favorte so far!
Irredento Urbanita -
I think I'd get bored with constant sunshine! I actually like the rain but I don't like storms that paralyze the country and I hate being cold! I also hate sweltering in really high temperatures.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Bhavesh and his wife have become friends. I love India and cherish my many friends in this very special country.

It is amazing to see how paralyzed the country has been by this weather.

I enjoyed your lovely snow pictures. It seemed so serene in the Japanese photos but created such havoc in our city scenes.

We have been so fortunate, you and me, in our winter weathe. I haven't even donned a heavy coat once...sweaters have been enough for me!
Abraham Lincoln -
The coldest it's been in my San Francisco suburb is a couple of days down to 45 degrees. That's plenty cold enough!!

When I lived in the Boston area and didn't have to work, after my oldest son was born, I enjoyed the snow. Once I had to return to work and needed to drive in it every day, it ceased to be fun. Lake Tahoe vacations, in the Sierras, some four hours from San Francisco, are always wonderful bu, then, I come and go and am not inconvenienced by the snow on a daily basis.

I've been thinking about you as the Egypt situation has gotten so scary. It is really frightening to me how volatile things can get in such a short time. I am glad to see you heading elsewhere but am also glad you got to visit Egypt before all the chaos happened. Travel safely, my friend.
Self Sagaciy -
Hey, neigbor, always good to see you here. My oldest son, by the way, is working at the tennis tournament in San Jose this next couple of weeks. I may drive up to visit him. We should have lunch if I do or meet for coffee or something if I get up that way!
Kim, USA -
I've been lazy, thus far, all weekend. I do have to make "Korean Meatballs" as my donation for Superbowl Sunday though I'm off to hear jazz instead of watching the game.
Kay L.Davies -
Glad you liked my photo of the sun streaming through the clouds. I pulled off the freeway to shoot the picture!
Maggie May -
Please keep me in your prayers. I need all the help I can get.

Mark Twain said, "The coldest winter I ever spent was summer in San Francisco." Still, we don't have winters like the rest of the country.
