Mellow Yellow Monday, #108, Valentine Thoughts, February 14, 2011

I cannot find the words to say,
The depth of love I feel,
Sometimes it's overwhelming,
And it doesn't seem quite real.

How did a humble soul like me,
Find heaven on this earth?
The day you came into my life,
I felt a new rebirth.

You fill my days with sunshine,
Though rain pours from the sky,
And make me a better person,
I don't even have to try.

Our quarrels are so short lived,
We simply can't stay mad,
We love each other far too much,
To make each other sad.

Your kisses run the gamut,
From gentle to raging fire,
With them, you are most capable,
Of igniting such desire!

I look into your eyes,
And see your love for me,
And know that all my life,
This is where I want to be.

My dearest Valentine,
When our days draw to an end,
I'll have spent them so in love,
With my soul mate and my friend.

  4. Carmen, this is wonderful.

I was kind of kidding around on a meme I do on Saturdays about being writers for Hallmark. I wonder if they actually hire writers...you would be soooo good at that!

You always express emotion so wonderfully in rhyme.

I am pleased that you liked my Valentine poem.

Thank you, sir. Glad the poem was to your liking.

    Rajesh -
I had a lovely bouquet of pink tulips - and chocolates - from my 26-year-old!!

    Jenny -
You are so kind. I would love to write for Halmark but I don't think they'd be interested in me. As long as you like my poems, I'm happy, though!

    Nina -
I know some folks are lucky enough to have a special love that lasts a lifetime...sadly, that didn't happen for me.

    rainfield61 -
I trust your Valentine's day was special, in your special part of the world!

    CARMEN -
I hope you had a special Valentine's with a special someone.

    Sony Holland -
Were you out with your honey, singing "MY Funny
Valentine" to those lucky LA types? I miss you guys but I am so excited that I'll see you two days in a row. I downloaded a list of all the bars in Santa Cruz since Edith and I are staying overnight! You, I suppose, will be resting your voice..such a short time between gigs. I think Jonathon Poretz is playing at
    Rrazz the same day!

    Francisca -
I hope you did give my poem to your soulmate and friend! That way it would have gone for a good purpose!

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti -
Now, what kind of lovely romantic evening did you and your husband have in New York, Pat?

    chubskulit -
I hope you and your husband had a nice, romantic
    Valentine's!!

    Y. Ikeda -
I know I'm a bit of a dreamer. I never had such a love but I like to imagine that it is possible.

    Welshcakes Limoncello -
I imagine you must have done something very special for a Valentine's dinner - perhaps, with a very charming Sicilian gentleman!!!

    hitesh rawat -
When the right girl comes along, she will bring out thos feelings in you and I'm sure you'll find it much easier to express your feelings of ove. I haven't a doubt in the world!

    Josep -
It is true, I have seldom been at a loss for words. I am sure some people would like it if I'd lose my voice!!!

    Veronice Shine -
You are quite busy writing, aren't you? When you've got talent, everyone wants you!!

    Werner and Fabienne Zurcher -
It was wonderful to see you here on my blog. I hope things are good in Switzerland. I would so love to visit again. Werner, I hope you get here for TIAFT or whatever is meeting in San Francisco- bring Fabienne!
