Ruby Tuesday 2 - Dancers at the Hong Kong International Airport - April 9, 2013

When I arrived at Hong Kong International for a brief stay enroute from India 
to San Francisco, I happened on a wonderful afternoon of dance presentations.
I paused to watch several of them before grabbing my bags and heading in to
Kowloon for five days.  It was the perfect way to help me transition from one
country to another.

Ruby Tuesday 2 - My Elephant Shoes - March 26, 2013

My beloved friend, Charlene Payton, knows me so well.  Of course, she has 
shared my life for about 40 years since we worked together for a year as
young nurses ( yes, even I was young once ).  We have stayed in touch ever
since, traveling together all over the world, even dragging the children along
sometimes.

Char is well aware of how much I like elephants and she has even donated a
few to my collection.  When she spotted some very special shoes at Alegria.com,
she immediately made me aware of them.  Of course, with a price tag of $109,
I decided I didn't need them that badly.  However, I did keep going back to look
at them and, yes, I now own a pair.  I just love them.  They are extremely
comfortable but quite heavy so I will probably need to wear them on my flight
back to India June 1.  They are perfect for Ruby Tuesday.

Ruby Tuesday 2 - Mel's Diner, San Francisco, California, January 29, 2013

Recently, I had lunch with a friend at Mel's Diner.  It's always a fun place to eat, with an 
extensive menu and lots of red everywhere.

No romance for me, sad to say, but out with a great friend!

There was even plenty of 60's music!

A friend was given this cake by an office mate and he was kind enough to share
it.  It seemed almost too pretty to cut.  I was a good girl and only had one piece 
( okay, there was a scoop each of pumpkin and rum raisin ice cream on the side! ).

Ruby Tuesday 2 - A Delightful Indian Preschool - July 23, 2012l

My guest house shares space with a preschool here in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.  My
private entrance, in fact, is next to that the children use but, since they leave about
noon, I still have my privacy and I enjoy seeing them come and go.  I keep thinking
I should ask the teachers if I could sit in on classes so I can learn Hindi!!!  I love
these bright, colorful signs out front which are perfect for Ruby Tuesday 2.

Ruby 2 - Red and Black Flowers - June 5, 2012

From San Francisco's wonderful Botanical Garden which was introduced to my by
a dear friend, fellow blogger, Poetic Shutterbug.  To see some incredible flower
photography, you MUST visit her blog!  She is the queen of macro shots and
the Garden is her world.  She is even a squirrel whisperer and has charmed the
bees and other critters in that habitat.

Ruby Tuesday 2 - Indian Children in Jaipur - May 1, 2012

I still have so many wonderful pictures of India to post.  Hopefully,
going through them all will help keep me from missing "the country of
my heart" so much until I can return.  I am just hoping that it will be
possible for me to go back.  Having just spent three days in the hospital
( and still on ten days of antibiotics for cellulitis of my left ankle - not
related to my four months in India ), I am increasingly made aware
that, at 67, horror of horrors, my traveling days may be numbered.

I spotted these two little girls enjoying the sun on the promenade near the
beautiful Jai Mahal, the palace which stands in Man Sagar Lake.  It is an
area protected from traffic and, especially on weekends, people are out,
buying drinks and tidbits from the vendors and there are crafts and wares
being sold ( as evidenced by the array of bangles spread out in the distance ).

Ruby Tuesday 2 - Red and Yellow Bridge Rails Leading to Hong Kong - April 24, 2012

After my four month stay in India, Hong Kong seemed most modern and quite different.
The bridges everywhere were architectural delights.  I liked this one with its red and
yellow railings.  Each country has much to offer the visitor.
