Camera Critters - Potty Detail Needed - August 28, 2010

They left Canada for San Francisco,
And roam contentedly for all to see,
They like our Botannical Gardens,
Where they're well feed, you must agree!

They're larger than most other birds,
And they don't mind staking their claim,
And if sparrows and finches are hungry,
Well, isn't that just such a shame!

Folks, who visit the gardens,
Must picnic with a bit of care,
For the places they lay their blankets,
May have goose droppings everywhere!

I wonder if these Canadian geese mate for life. I think some birds do.

    Inky -
I love the color of the blog - was glad when they came up with the new formats. It's almost the color of my poetry book. You'll have to check it out...I can just imagine Canadian geese holding up traffic.

At 65, I've done it! My poetry book - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy - is out on Amazon!
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well ) ( Check it out on Amazon and read the reviews )

I guess the goose droppings were pretty vivid imagery!

    Icy BC -
I suppose these might be Belle Isle geese visiting us for the long winter ahead!!

    kulasa -
I'm glad you found the humor in my poetry. It's funny unless you're trying to find a clean spot for a picnic - or unless you are bombed from on high by flying geese!

    Manuela -
Those geese are pretty but they can be a real pain!

    Claudia -
I guess these Canadian geese don't make the long flight over "the pond."

I orderd Pia's latest CD through CD Baby - I had listened to previews of it because I thought I was going to her gig. It should be here tomorrow. I am sorry I missed them.

    Mimi -
Your geese are doing really well in California, getting quite fat, that's for sure.

    MaxiVelasco -

I know nothing about the feisty nature of Canadian geese but I sure know they poop a lot!!!

    Ratty -
I think those Canadian geese are quite pretty - they sure are growing huge, though, here in San Francisco. They look amazing in flight, flying in formation!
