Since it was a "wordless Wednesday" post, I didn't write any explanations...but, actually, these photos were taken last year when my nursing school classmate visited with her daughter, Laurel. Martha and I met at Charity Hospital in New Orleans as freshman student nurses and we have now been friends 48 years. She was my maid of honor at my first wedding and she was the godmother of my oldest son, Shawn, who you see in the photos. I am so grateful that she is still alive as she has had
two brain surgeries for aneursyms. She still
lives in the New Orleans area with her husband who is an attorney.

As for that yacht, isn't it something? I am sure it was built in Europe or elsewhere. I saw one exactly like it last year when I was in Portofino!!!

  11. Ah, I see familiar places. It's good that you showed them around the city. That's a great story about true friendship lasting for a long time. Good for both of you. :)

  12. That's some ship! The shapes almost look like sails... perhaps the designer knew that.

Absolutely wonderful memories...my friendship goes back 48 years, to my beginning days in nursing school and has continued a lifetime!

Some of my dreams have come true...since I first saw San Francisco, I wanted to live here and, at 31, I made the move after a year of living in southern CA. It's been 34 years now and I still love it.

    Manang Kim -
You must make it happen. San Francisco is a wonderful place. Pat at Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti has just been out here and she's done some amazing blogs about the city.

I am away this weekend but I do want to invite you to dinner one time when you're in town on the weekend - to my friend's Thai Restaurant on 24th...it would have to be on a Sat night since they're closed on Sunday.

    Shey -
I'd like to show you around as well...so get out here.

Isn't that an incredible yacht!! We saw the same one in the Mediterranean..Portofino, I believe...ah, to be wealthy!

    Pagan Sphinx -
I am so lucky to have had the last 34 years in the San Francisco area....it's had some changes, not for the best, but it still remains my favorite of all places in the world.

I keep thinking of how long it's been since I was in Greece. I wish I could get back. A dear friend is ailing and I would so love to see him and his wife. They have a lovely home in Corinth and keep asking me to come and stay awhile. Just don't have the funds, since retirement, or I'd head over immediately!!
