Sundays in My City, San Francisco Houses, 9-19-10

Sundays in My City, San Francisco Houses, 9-19-10

It's been awhile since I've posted on this meme.  I just learned that Mami has been going
through some pretty stressful times and could use everyone's prayers heavenward on
her behalf - check out her blog at Unknown Mami.  I have some photos of San Francisco
homes I took one day while driving about the city and I thought I would post them in
sections as there are so many of them.  In the 33 years I have lived in this area, I have
just loved the beautiful Victorians and their wonderful colors and have fantasized about
winning the lottery and being able to finally live in one.  With my 66th birthday
approaching in two weeks, I don't think that dream will ever be fulfilled.  Besides,
I keep forgetting to buy a lottery ticket.  I guess I should just be grateful that I still have
my van and can drive around and take pictures of them!!

Houses climbing halfway to the stars ( only this isn't really a high hill! )

This is one of my favorite houses in Seacliff

More houses in another post.  To continue your travels, see Sundays in my City!

Gorgeous! And you still have lots of time to win the lottery! I look forward to visiting San Francisco one day. Hopefully next fall so I can see these beauties through my lens. But so glad you shared so I can see now. Thanks!

  3. The Victorians in SF have always been a favorite of mine. Sometimes the colors are pretty out there but they are always stunning and grand.

I'm sending prayers to Unknown Mami too.

    Cheers, jj

  16. Lost in Translation -
You have some beautiful houses in Germany even if they aren't Victorians. Where did you grow up in one?

    ρομπερτ -
Have you ever visited the U.S., Robert?

    Sharkbytes -
I really do think San Francisco is one of the prettiest cities in America. Charleston is also very pretty, as is Seattle.

    clean and crazy -
I will have to check out this prayer hubs. I really need some prayers myself right now. I am going through the worst time in my life, I think.

    A 2 Z -
Some of the interiors of the Victorians on display are very dark and dreary but the ones I've been in that are owned by my friends have really been fixed beautifully.

    Priyanka Bhowmick -
Sadly, I don't live in one of these pretty houses and I don't have a view from my home. I'm outside San Francisco in the suburbs, in San Mateo County. I'm only about three miles from the Pacific Ocean, though with some fine views but not right in my immediate area.

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti -
No, Pat, if I had a Victorian, I'd need an
    elevator AND a housekeeper!!

    Thom -
Definitely, San Francisco is a far cry from Hawaii temperatures. When my friends visit from
Oahu, they never are warm enough. They always end up buying sweatshirts. I don't know why they don't bring back the ones they bought the time before!

San Francisco is definitely the most European city in the U. S. It is so cosmopolitan, with an Italian section, a Japanese section, a Chinatown, a Russian section . It does remind me so much of Europe.

Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I went to the doctor today and got some encouraging news.
