Flash 55 Friday - Hot, Hot, Hot - September 3, 2010

Flash 55 Friday - Hot, Hot, Hot - September 3, 2010

It's hotter here than Hades,
In the San Francisco Bay,
Where normally gentle foggy breezes,
Make it a pleasant place to stay.

My Southern belle upbringing,
Says I glisten, I don't sweat,
But, then, kindly tell me why it is,
I end up soaking wet!

Hot spell,
Do not stay!
 Or I'll surely melt away!

  1. Send it my way! We're already in highs in the low 70's and lows in the 40s here in Montana. I'm wearing a sweater right now.

    My 55 is here.

  3. P.S. Just a comment on the music: I once watched a large group of Cubans dancing outdoors at Bayfront Park on a sunny weekend day in Miami. My favorite couple were really getting down to Hot! Hot! Hot! He was about 75 years old and looked like Anthony Quinn. She was about 8 years old and adorable. And their moves were hot, hot, hot. It was one of my favorite moments ever.

  13. We just had some storms blow through and take away the horrible heat and humidity. I wish the same for you. I did smile at the "glisten" as my mother always said "men sweat, women glow" - lol! As you say - either way you end up wet! lol!

  14. Well, I'm sure one who is glad you don't sweat...but glisten instead--I just grin!

Actually I LOVE the hot, hot, hot. So long as I can be in air conditioned comfort!!!

Seems like yesterday we were ALL whining about the "longest cold spell" in memory.

    Carmen, my "55' is HERE
