Aren't dolphins such beautiful creatures? I rememeber, once, cruising in the Mediterranean, a school of them followed our ship for about an hour to the delight of all passengers.

This setting, at the former Kahala Hilton Hotel in Honolulu, was especially nice. They had a lagoon in front where the dolphins swam and you could get right in the front and sit on the pavement while they did their little dolphin show.

They are the most endearing of creatures. It's funny that we never seem to be fearful of them in the water as we are of sharks.

It was wonderful to stay once at the Kahala Hilton with a lagoon front room, just three floors above the dolphins. The boys would sit for hours watching them swim and splash. They would put on a small show a couple of times a day which was so nice because you could really get up close to the dolphins.

You guessed it. I stayed once at the Kahala Hilton. My three boys just loved it. It was a bit above my budget but worth that splurge one time. Anytime I'd be in HNL in those days with my sons, we'd always go over there. My dear friends parents, the Nishigayas, owned a condo right beside the Kahala so I was familiar with it all my life. After their death, it went to him. Didn't it become a Mandarin Oriental for awhile. I remember, when I'd visit, my other friend, Warren Fukushima, would always take me to the Danny Kaleikini ( I think that was the name ) show there - of course, I am dating myself!!

Several times, cruising in various places about the world, we have been thrilled to have dolphins follow our ships. They will often stay besides us for an hour or show and the passengers are so delighted witht their private show.

I cannot look at your name without wanting to sip a nice glass of limoncello. Unfortunately, I finished my last bottle sometime ago and now this retirement has me budgeting so much. I need to finish up all the other liquors since a move is imminent and real cutting back looms on the horizon.

I told Royal Caribbean I would go on the Allure but I am still not sure I can afford the airfare. I am having to miss my 45 year nursing school reunion in New Orleans in October ( sad because we only have them every five years and our forty was cancelled because of Katrinaa ). I am still trying to go to India in Dec for six months to live and reduce some of my debt...so far, though, they could only get me a frequent flyer seat on the outbound. Times are growing worse and worse.
When you win that lottery, send a few thousand,
    okay?

The old Kahala Hilton Hotel in Honolulu used to have a small lagoon with their own dolphins. Twice a day, staff from Sea Life Park would feed them and do a small show. Hotel guests
( and others who knew about it ) could be there, right on the pathways, to watch. It was
    so fabulous.
