Sunset", I came across these weathered and worn sights that seem rather out of place here.
It looks like work has begun on remodeling! At least, the door looks new.
Not too far away from the first house, I passed this place with the rusty car and horse trailer parked right out in the front and side yard. The car looks like it hasn't run in years...as for the horse trailer?? Don't know where the horse could be - San Francisco houses are so close together, there is barely room outside for a dog! This is, after all, a city street.

Being from New England, I just love old houses.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I love the door on the first one! Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI actually prefer photos of battered old buildings and cars to their new counterparts.
ReplyDeleteIf they would finish the remodel it could be an adorable house wouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteCool photos of weathered and worn subjects! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNow I do believe that every city has it's own secrets to tell? ^_^ Great pictures like it much with your story makes it more awesome. Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteWeathered and Worn
I like the house, after a little work it would be adorable! I can remember driving those old clunkers but not sure if they would pull a loaded horse trailer. :-)
ReplyDeleteHaHaHa! They came out great Carmen, the horse trailer says it all - I cannot stop laughing LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. That door in the first picture sure does seem out of place with the rest of the building.
ReplyDeleteThe archaeology of a city is right here in front of us.
ReplyDeleteYou're right - that's not what you think of when you imagine San Francisco!
ReplyDeleteI love old houses like this, it will be beautiful after the restoration. Right now the new door does look a little out of place.
ReplyDeleteI bet that would be a pretty house once it gets fixed up! Hahaha, love the old car too. Great examples of weathered and worn!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of that door on the worn out house, Carmen. Just imagine how beautiful that house once was!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that house was let go like that. It looks like it could be really beautiful if it was fixed up.
ReplyDeletehip chick - I lived in the Boston area for a number of years and I loved the houses there. They were as great as our San Francisco Victorians!

Jeanette - it is a beautiful door, isn't it. I will have to keep driving by to see how the ouse progresses!
ReplyDeletesecret agent woman - well, I definitely love the old San Francisco Victorians but I'm not so sure this relic appeals to me that much!!
ReplyDeleteCindra - the house definitely has possibilities...the door is certainly nice!

June Coe Harris - the house and car I wanted to use turned out kind of blurry, sad to say. It was even more forlorn than this.

Manang Kim - thanks for stopping by! It's always nice to see you here.
ReplyDeleteBrenda - the house definitely has potential! I'm sure the neighbors are glad it's on the improvement list!
ReplyDeletePoetic Shutterbug - Too bad, though, I'm missing that other house and car. They would have really completed the set of weathered and worn!!
ReplyDeleteAnn - they seem to be working pretty slowly on that house. The rest needs to catch up with that nice door.
ReplyDeletelakeviewer - San Francisco is a city of great variety, with its many cultures and mixes. I love it.
ReplyDeleteWelshcakes Limoncello - for me, I also identify San Francisco with its famous painted ladies, the beautiful Victorians for which it is famous.
ReplyDeleteSquirrelQueen - I think you're right. This will be a lovely house when it is finished.

Donna - I hope they get the house done pretty soon. Right now, it's a neighborhood eyesore.
ReplyDeleteIcy BC - I bet that house will be beatiful again. It's nice that someone saw it's possibilities ( and had the money to make it happen! ).
ReplyDeleteRatty - I always wonder the history behind some of these houses. So many in this area become rental properties. I think they go downhill then. I think it will be lovely once it's restored.
ReplyDeleteThat home could be wonderful if the restoration is done. Love the horse trailer sitting by the rusty old car... would love to hear the story behind that!
ReplyDeleteLove that door! It is a beauty! Lot's of work to do there...would be interesting to see the progress.
ReplyDeleteNita Jo - I'm sure that place will look nice, once finished. I'll have to keep going back and recording the progress. As for the other place with the horse trailer, I doubt the neighbors are too fond of them!
ReplyDeleteWR - if I can find the street again ( I need to start writing down the addresses of these
ReplyDeleteplaces ), I'll follow up on that house!
Sorry to be late, but we went out of town!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww!!! These are Great but they Break my heart! If only people would use a little elbow grease, it would look great!
Well done Girl!
