Without a Word
I can tell when you’re feeling happy,
You’re eyes are so full of glee,
You could never keep any secret,
So don’t try to hold back on me!
When you’re sad, I know in an instant,
Though a tear doesn’t fall from your eye,
I think it might be cathartic,
If you’d actually break down and cry.
If you’re rageful, you hold it inside,
But I know it when others do not,
When I’m angry, there’s never a doubt,
I yell with all that I’ve got!
You seldom tell me you love me,
Without a word, I know that you do,
You show me in all of your actions,
Your feelings are eternal and true.

A very intimate poem, Carmen!
ReplyDeleteLovely, Carmen. There was a song in the 60s, "To know you is to love you"; I'm sure you'd remember, sung by Bobby Vinton.
