  4. Oh I love Venezia, it's one of the few places I've been and I can't have a better memory of it. I think I sailed through all those canales you show here, and the Vaporettos were my favourite boats, way more than the gondolas (they were too expensive). Thank you for these views!

    Happy WW

  16. Beautiful Venezia! :) :)

As for the color orange..... It's pretty but definitely not for clothing! I never wear anything orange! I think it's a beautiful contrast if you're African, though... a contrast to the skin.... :)

I've been to Venice three times now and, each time, I discover new magic. It is an enchanting place!

At 65, I've done it! My poetry book - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy - is out on Amazon!
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )

Venice is a very special place. I'd like to go in the winter when there are fewer tourists. My friend loved it then though many places were closed. You should see the film "Dangerous Beauty" for great scenery of Venice.

So glad you liked my Venice photos. I have so many more!

You were lucky to stay in Venice. I've been there three times now, always on ships. We arrive about 7AM on morning, overnight, and sail at 5PM the following evening. One cruise, I had dinner with the captain the evening before and, when he found out it was my first time in Venice and my birthday the following day, he invited me to the bridge to sail down the Grand Canal. What a thrill that was!! Have you seen the movie, "Dangerous Beauty?" Wonderful scenes of Venice.

    Venice has such exquisite architecture.

I had never heard that Venice is haunted. Interesting.

Though it is very expensive, my first trip ( out
of three ) time to Venice, my girlfriend and I did splurge and ride a gondola...and I'm glad we did. Our gondolier sang opera, too, so it was great fun.

I am so fortunate to have done so much travel in the past. Seventeen months ago, I lost my job of 21 years and had to retire. With an income drop of $90,000 a year with retirement, travel is impossible for me now.

    Luna Miranda -
I am honored that you enjoyed my pictures of Venice.

You should do a Mediterranean cruise one of these days to see some of Italy's most wonderful cities. If you choose on that leaves from Venice, it would allow you to spend a few days there before departure.

    Shay -
Venice is wonderful. I've been there three times but always on a cruise ship, arriving early one morning, overnighting, and sailing the following evening.

Venice has been so crowded with tourists the three times I was there. I would so like to go at a time when it is less crowded.

    The Ancient Digger -
You've been to Venice, it seems, so I am really pleased that you like my photography!

I do hope you'll get to visit Venice one day! You would love all the beautiful jewelry and the Murano glass.

Your own city has canals, doesn't it? Have you been to Venice?

Did you get to Venice on your European travels? As for orange, yes, you are right. It is beautiful on African skin!
