Yellow - Jenny Matlock, Alphabe Thursday, Rainbow Summer School, Rainbow Yellow, August 12, 2010

Yellow

Alphabe Thursday, Rainbow Summer School, Rainbow Yellow, August 12, 2010

The color yellow is a favorite,
It’s so bright and full of cheer,
That’s why it’s on a smiley face,
That grins from ear to ear!

It’s the color of the sunshine,
Giving forth those brilliant rays,
That melt away the winter snows,
And warm our frozen days.

It’s the color of a lemon,
The most versatile of fruit,
With lemonade to quench our thirst,
And luscious tarts and pies to boot!

Yellow also tells us caution,
As the light turns green to red,
That is not the time to speed,,
Or you just may end up dead!

Crime scene tape is yellow,
It means to stay away,
One mustn’t interfere,
In the search for guilty prey.

There are so many colors,
Some dark and others light,
Yellow is a favorite,
It's both cheerful and so bright.

So happy my "yellow" effort pleased you.

    EGWow -
That photo in my header is probably the best shot I have ever done. I am thrilled you like it.

    Theresa -
It was fun doing this "yellow" post.

    Tina -
It's always fun coming up with a poem. Half of it is missing, though. I, sadly wrote the second half of it on the site and, when I post it, it didn't go through so four verses were lost. It was 3AM and I didn't feel like trying to reconstruct it. I learned my lesson and will always write it first in word!!!

    Irredento Urbanita -
I sm more the "Mellow Yellow" and Beatles generation ( 65 ) though I do like the Coldplay song.

It's been fun getting the comments. Depending on our ages, different songs have appealed to different people.

I, too, love yellow and blue...and I like them together, as well.

    Icy BC -
I'm mad at myself, Icy, because half the poem is missing. I wrote the second half online instead of in word and it didn't make it through cyberspace. I was to tired to try to reconstruct it.

    Sarah -
Thanks for your compliment on my Pacific daisy fields. I love it, too. Writing my yellow poem was fun. I enjoy doing this kind of thing.

I think I wrote my first poem when I was six. It is something I really enjoy doing and it seems to come fairly easy to me.

My header photo is such a joy to me, too. I'm thinking of making it into a poster and having it framed!
