Oh my gosh -- I love seeing those kind of colorful homes. Don't know that I'd want to live in one (I'm more the shy and retiring type ;>)...but I love looking at them.
BTW, you had me at your header photo =-- those blossoms are fantastic!!
Love the colors. We are going to repaint the outside of our house in the Philippines, and that dark yellow color is exactly what my wife is planning to use.
fullet - the only bad thing about houses in this area is that they are so close together and there is very limited street parking! You can see all kinds of wild colors, too!
Cinner - you either love these colors or hate them. On the San Francisco victorians, there is a huge business in painting them and a great book out called "Painted Ladies" - it's fun to see the combinations that they come up with!
Manang Kim - This house does have a happy look to it with the yellow and green color. I have one that is blue and yellow that I'm posting soon. I like bright yellow because it is so cheery. Someone on my street has a bright yellow van and it is so cute!
Sallie (FullTime-Life) - San Francisco's Victorians, especially, are beautifully painted, in all colors of the rainbow. This Daly City house can't compare to those.
As for the header, isn't it spectacular. You should check out ruma2008's blog, "Calligraphy in the Landscape" - he's responsible for this photo and hundreds more of incredible beauty.
betchai - I agree, SF is a showplace of interesting and colorful houses - especially the Victorians, with all their gingerbread trim! Can't wait till you come and Jo and I can take you out and about!
I wouldn't mind to live there, and they have a lot of light with those windows. It's such a charming house!
ReplyDeleteNot keen on these colors, I like them better on our local football team. Definately bright though. take care and have a wonderful Monday.
ReplyDeleteCool house. It reminds me so much of houses from my childhood.
ReplyDeleteThere's a street in our town that has deep, vivid, colors like that on most of its houses. Wonder if the neighbors got together and planned it...
ReplyDeleteOh wow!!A happy house! Happy Monday!

Nice house. I'm glad to see one brightly painted now and then, it punctuates an otherwise dull view!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting!
Very beautiful house.
ReplyDeleteWow! I can imagine coming home to this everyday, I don't think I'd ever have a frown!
