Lovely callas. I only have white. And thank you for sharing Sony's version of "At Last" in your previous post. It was a great Monday morning treat for me.
This is more a comment on your overall status of losing your nursing job. I'm not sure what a forensic nurse does, but I recently learned about being a travel nurse and I thought I would pass that idea on to you.
magiceye - I, too, thought that yellow calla lilly was so beautiful. I kept going back into the kitchen all day to see it. She bought it at Home Depot. I guess I should go and buy one for myself!
Marites - oh, I didn't grow those yellow callas - they were in a window box at a wedding shower I attended. I was amazed at them, though - so beautiful!
Enchanted Oak - I didn't even know callas came in any color but white! So glad you liked Sony's "At Last" - send me your home address...one of these days, I'll send you her CD with "At Last" on it. I wanted her to sing it at Alex's wedding but she has gigs in L. A. that weekend - the DJ, however, is playing her version for my dance with my son.
Sue - I just looked up an incredible website, http://www.flowers.pacificcallas.com. I cannot believe all the colors there are of calla lillies. Of course, some of the more exotic ones are almost $10/bulb. The yellow ones are about $3.75 each with a minimum order of three.
Dhemz - I'm laughing about the weed. Here we are, trying to get rid of them but your precious sweetheart is bringing them to you with love. I just checked out a website with some calla lilly bulbs at $10 each - for sone exotic colors.
tinasphotoblog - here they are calla lillies - not much different from Sweden! I did a cruise once, visiting all the capitals of Scandinavia. What a beautiful journey into Stockholm!
Mirage - check out http://www.callalilyshop.pacificcallas.com - I had no idea that so many different colors of calla lillies existed. You'd have to be a millionaire, though, to plant a lot of assorted colors!
Lynn - at 65, having worked only in forensics ( I was a sexual assault nurse examiner, an expert in adult rape and child sexual assault cases ) for the last 21 years, any other avenue of nursing is pretty much closed to me. With recent experience in acute care or medical-surgical nursing, I couldn't qualify as a "traveler" - I'd almost have to go back to school and I'm not willing to do that!
Brian Miller - I am so glad I have that yellow calla photo - I am thinking I'm going to get an large print of it to frame...it will cheer me up all year long.
Carletta - I learned something new today when I looked up calla lillies! Check out: http://www.callalilyshop.pacificcallas.com - you will not believe the colors of calla lillies, even red!
Daniela - those were my first yellow callas, too - check this site out: http://www.callalilyshop.pacificcallas.com - look at all the incredible colors of callas there!
