i had such a wonderful time visiting you today, your granddogs post was real cute! i can hardly believe your career came to such a shrieking halt...it must have been fascinating work! so, how are you going to travel if your pension is just enough to cover the rent??? if you've got a plan i'm dying to know what it entails ;)
oops-just one thing more-yours was the only magpie tale i read that had a woman, a grandma no less!, as the main character...your magpie was fantastic!!
I love these San Francisco scenes, Carmen! My husband and I walked up to Telegraph Hill once on a visit and we marveled at how strong people must be to live near it to be able to walk up and down that hill, and we also enjoyed the beautiful view from the top of the tower. ♥ Pat
C - Well, there is a Pleasanton not too far from San Francisco! This is really a wonderful parr of the U. S. I've loved it since I first saw it when I was 18-years-old. I've been here 33 years now and my two youngest sons were born here.
Hootin' Anni - Hilly, definitely. I remember one Ironsides ( remember that show ) episode where a woman murdered her husband by letting his wheelchair go from the top of a hill!
Noel - I agree about Fisherman's Wharf...and my favorite times are often the winter months when there are few people there. San Francisco is such a beautiful city...I am a Georgia girl, originally, but I first visited when I was 18, came back many times before I moved here at 32 and I've been here 33 years.
Tina - glad you liked my San Francisco posting. As for the picture of Alcatraz and the ships, you can download it and use it any way you like...same for any of my photos!
sheri - I have enough miles to cover my trip to India and, thankfully, I have about fifty very good friends all over the country. I am going to store my furniture ( much of it will be sold ), give up my house ( rent is $2325/month - my pension is only $2330/month but the two sons living at home pay half and they are moving out soon ). I plan to rent a room in Mumbai but will stay with friends much of the time. My pension and $1330 from social security should give me enough to pay bills at home and do fine in India, from what I'm told!
Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti - When I was younger, I could manage the hills but, now, with a walker, even a slight incline has me huffing and puffing. I do marvel at this city, though, no matter how often I see it. I'm still in love!
Unseen Rajasthan - San Francisco is a truly beautiful city, not like your area, which has its own beauty. I'm glad there are all kinds of places in our world!
Irredento Urbanita - since I am a cruiser ( 88 in my life, so far ), I have seen a lot of port cities! Some of them are truly wonderful, some not so much. One of my favorites is Barcelona and, of course, San Francisco is special. Others I love are Singapore, Funchal in Madeira, Vancouver and Victoria, Lisbon, Santorini...many others.

J Bar - We have a mutual admiration society. I love Sydney as well! I only got to spend two days there but it was heaven.

ReplyDeleteBK - it was a perfect San Francisco day...not a bit of fog, warm and sunny!
ReplyDeleteA Garden of Threads - The wharf has so many interesting things to see. I like it best myself off season when there aren't so many visitors there.
ReplyDeleteDaddy Forever - We often have masted sailing ships in San Francisco and they are so beautiful with their sails unfurled!
ReplyDeleteSusan - If and when you get back to San Francisco, you must let me know so we can have lunch or something!
