Mellow Yellow Monday #119 - A Flower from the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco - May 2, 2011

This is one of the more modern pieces I saw during my recent visit to the Asian Art
Museum in San Francisco.  What a treasure trove of exhibits it houses.  I am anxious
to return soon to photograph more beautiful works of art.

I am participating in Mellow Yellow Monday!
Check out the site and add your yellow contribution.

I thought the flower was quite lovely, too - there was nothing else quite like it in the museum.

I certainly do hope you'll be back to visit. I would be very sad if you stayed away!

That flower does look real. It would certainly be nice to own one - especially for the winter months when there aren't fresh ones in our gardens!

This flower - stoneware - is so interesting. I wonder what the cost is of art like this. Way beyond my budget, I'm sure!

The artist is so talented. Since it is a recent work, I wonder if he has others available for sale. I see that he is Japanese. I hope he was in the tsunami area.

I'll get over to see your Mellow Yellow before the evening is over. Thanks for stopping by my page.

This flower is truly lovely. I guess I appreciate it even more since I have no artistic talent other than writing poetry.

I agree with you! This artist certainly has the ability to portray this flower so realistically. What a talent that is.

My Indian friend, who is the general manager of Masraff's, a very posh restaurant in Houston, keeps telling me I must come to visit. I hope to do so - I have several nurse friends in the area. I do hope we can have lunch together if I get there!

I am so jealous, you are cavorting all about the world. Don't know how you'll find time to get back to San Francisco!

The way I kill every plant I bring into the house, I think I need to invest in ceramic flowers and the like!!

I can't believe that,in 34 years of living here, that's the first time I visited the Asian Art Museum. It is a fabulous place. San Franciscois blessed with so many wonderful museums and cultural events.

I wish I had a flower of that quality to endure when other blooms have perished!!! In my travels about the world, I have seen some incredible works of art but really haven't had the funds to bring them home.

  17. I can say I don't have to worry about killing plants anymore. I have learned how to love them.
