Home Again - The One Year Wedding Anniversary, May 7, 2011 - May 10, 2011

I went to West Sacramento on Saturday which was the one year wedding anniversary
of Alex ( my middle son ) and Laura Vukasinovic.  The year has really flown by so
quickly.  What a wonderful day that Friday evening was, outdoors at a lovely winery
near their home.  It was a perfect setting and the loveliest of weddings.  Everything was
perfect, really, except that my oldest son, Shawn, had been deployed to Germany the
week prior, with the Air Force Reserves, so he could not be present, with his brother,
Jeremy.

Since both Laura and Alex had to work on their anniversary, they celebrated on the
Thursday before and I fixed a special dinner for them on Saturday.  I was so disappointed
when I got to their home Saturday afternoon that I had forgotten their card and the poem
that I had written for them so I decided to post it on my blog.  Alex constantly makes fun
of my "blog" - he calls it my "four letter word."

For Laura and Alex,
On Their One Year Wedding Anniversary

It hardly seems it's been a year,
Since that very special day,
When you two joined your lives,
And started on your way.

Though the journey's just begun,
The love that you two share,
Will nourish you through the years,
Because you truly care.

I wish you only happy times,
But should some raindrops fall,
Remember the important things,
And keep those conflicts small.

I love to be around you,
For it warms this mother's heart,
That you two chose each other,
And are off to such a start!

Happy First Anniversary, Laura and Alex!

May you have a lifetime of happiness.

Mom
