Shadow Shot Sunday ##151 - West Sacramento Tree Shadows - April 10, 2011

During my recent visit with my son, Alex, and his wife, Laura, in West Sacramento,
we were out walking the dogs on a very glorious ( but hot! ) sunny day.  The tree
shadows were wonderful and, of course, I had my camera with me!!

I am participating in Shadow Shot Sunday - check out the site
to see other fun shadow shots - and add your own!

  1. It's amazing how real look these shadows, as if they were the trees themselves.

    I agree, those tree shadows were unbelievable. You could see every bud and branch so distinctly. My son, Alex, said he was glad to see how little it took to excite me!

    Dulce -
    I don't think that would be a bad idea! Painting the street with trees, flowers and birds would be kind of nice!

    In the time I've been doing this meme, I think these are the clearest shadows I've gotten!

  11. forget me not -
    I wish I'd kept all my tree shadow photographs in a single file. I've gotten some great ones in the year and a half that I've been blogging.

    Are you getting out more for your job now? I am sure it is a lot nicer in warm, sunny weather.

    I could have gotten a couple dozen great tree shots that day - except the dogs wouldn't have gotten much of a workout with me stopping every minute!

    Indrani -
    We bloggers do seem to have our cameras always at the ready to snap something special for our blogs and our memes! I look at everything in a whole new way now.

    If you didn't see the sidewalks in some of the photos, I don't think you could hardly tell where the real tree began and ended.

    Hey Harriet -
    I'm sure people passing by wondered what they heck I was photographing with my camera aimed at the street!

    WELCOME THE SHADOWS

    Welcome the shadows surrounding your life,
    Treat them as lover or husband or wife;
    Welcome them in as you would one who’s dear;
    Hug them, embrace them without any fear;
    Honor, respect them, and give them their due,
    For shadow and light are both parts of you.
