Mellow Yellow Monday #118 - Floral Scene - April 25, 2011

I was driving in San Mateo, CA recently and was so glad I had my camera with
me when I passed this beautiful scene on a quiet street.  San Mateo is only about
12 miles from Daly City but the difference in weather is amazing.  We are often
covered in whisps of eerie fog while San Mateo is bright and sunny and at least
ten to fifteen degrees warmer or, in winter, possibly ten degrees cooler.

I am participating in one of my favorite memes, Mellow Yellow Monday!

  7. oh, so beautiful and inspiring indeed Carmen. i guess, for most parts of the West Coast, there is big difference between weather along the coast and several miles inland, giving us more choices. If we miss the sun, we can go inlang, if we miss the fog, we can go along the coast.

It was just a tiny house in an older area of San Mateo but that brilliant planting of flowers made it look like a million dollars!

It is really true about the weather variances in the Bay area - from San Franciso, especially, if you go over one of the bridges!

I keep saying I'm going to driv up and down the streets of San Mateo and take pictures. You won't find the Victorians of San Francisco there but I love the small old houses with their bright flower plantings.

I was amazed at all the flowers in bloom the day I was out and about in San Mateo, especially the magnificent roses. They were so gorgeous.

You are so right about our weather. If you search enough, you'll find the sun!

That floral display was in the yard of a tiny little, old house - probably built in the 40's.

I can't tell you how much those flowers lifted my spirits. One can't have the gloomies after seeing something so cheery.

You are such a dear, my Malaysian friend. I love your good wishes.

Sharkbytes - Whoever planted this bed of flowers certainly had an eye for curb appeal!!
