This reminds me of when we saw a full eclipse of the sun in Munich. The leaf shadows on the ground formed a crescent and as the moon passed across the sun the crescents changed shape http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap990813.html
Shadows make such an interesting picture (unless you are trying to take a clear picture of faces- I have so many people pix in the woods that are too dappled to clearly see what's happening)
thanks for your comment on my blog today. i can imagine how out of sunc you would to be out of full time work after so long. but i am glad you have other interests to keep you busy and occupied. have a lovely day.
i can just imagine the shadows dancing prettily Carmen, good you have your camera, I always do not have my camera, except when in my mind I will take some photos. thus, I miss a lot of shots too :(
hi carmen...so good to see you at farmhouse today...i have missed you.
i lived in los gatos till i was 12 years old...and i still LOVE it there...would love to live there...but $$$$ and what would we do there job wise...well, at least for john...realtor in cambria..and you can't start over in that world in an unknown location...
the little farmstand is right out by the airport..i bet you know where that is...
we drove past Firestone Grill at lunch and it was packed with a huge line...thought about you
Retiredandcrazy - You do get around! That must have been very interesting, seeing the eclipse in Munich. I assume you and Davy were there. You have always been a traveler then!
Siromade - Glad you like my leaf shadows. I'm amassing such a collection of photos these days.
Sharkbytes - Yes, face shots in shadows just don't work that well! Also, taking people with the sun behind them can present some problems. Digital makes it nicer since you can tell right away what you've gotten!
Icy BC - I keep searching now for shadows. Before my blogging days, I never really paid attention.
Kamana - I know I need to get over the job loss and I tell myself that every day. If only I had been able to retire on a full time pension, life would have been different. The city really hurt us by make our reqs half time and paying us per diem for all the other hours we worked ( more than full time! ). We always thought that would change but, sadly, it never did.
Phil - I do think you develop an ability to spot good photo opportunities. I've improved since I began blogging.
dulce - Glad you like my shadows!
betchai - It's only recently I've started keeping my camera with me...I've missed a lot of great shots in the past!
ρομπερτ - I'm always on the lookout these days for good shadows, Robert. See what the blogging world has done to me.
Merisi - I need to get over to your wonderful Vienni blog soon...seems like I haven't visited you in awhile!
My Farmhouse Kitchen - You know, I've never been to the SLO airport. I always drive down for our annual meetings! I'm not sure I'll be able to make this year's conference if I'm even here...I still hope to go to India for 6 months! I have no money...am overdrawn as I write this. I told Chrysler NOT to automatically debit my account anymore and they did....so I've had eight NSF checks because of that, totalling over $240! Just what I need, right?

Who would have thought such a simple things as leaves in the sun could create such a pretty picture!
Looks like art painted on a fence, clever shot.
