I am nearing sixty-seven,
With aches and pains, it's true,
But I really like my trademark eyes,
In every shade and hue!
With fifty years of practice,
It's so much a part of me,
I match the outfit of the day,
With no colors less than three!
I could paint the Sistine Chapel,
With the shadows I possess,
But I always want another,
To match that very special dress!
As I age, it gets much harder,
To get it all on right,
Soon I'll have to give it up.
Or I might just look a fright.
BUT, should I win the lottery,
I will see if I can find,
A resident make up artist,
To give me peace of mind.

ReplyDeleteIt's help to be able to laugh at myself...othewise, wth this darn arthritis and all the other maladies of growing older, I'd simply cry and run my mascara! Good luck with that lottery ticket!
Definitely a different take! I really enjoyed reading it and I hope your arthritis doesn't keep you from writing!
