drizzle. That didn't stop us from going out today for a wonderful lunch at Nick's at
Rockaway Beach where it continued overcast and misty. The weather seemed to make
us even hungrier so we shared Nick's famous Dungeness crab sandwich AND a
fabulous seafood platter that had sauteed calamari, scallops, and prawns and fried sole,
scalone ( scallops and abalone ).
Before we went home, we stopped at our neighborhood grocery, Manila Market. It
has all kinds of fresh fish and wonderful Oriental produce. I had my camera in my purse
when I came across a plastic bin of live frogs that really broke my heart. They were
all piled on top of each other, with the most pathetic looks on their faces. If there were
some way I could have gotten away with it, I would have helped them make a break
for freedom! There might have been a handsome prince or two in the bunch!

AWWW, that is so sad. I feel bad for the frogs.
ReplyDeletethat's heart breaking. two years ago i became a vegetarian, but i've been eating seafood still. lately i've been considering giving that up, too, even if i have no idea how to do it yet. but i had no idea when i gave up meat, either, so it's possible.
ReplyDeleteThat is sad that they were all bunched in the bin, but those are great pictures.
ReplyDeleteInteresting critter pics but not very appetizing! Wonder what sort of dish they are intended for?
ReplyDeleteAwww...poor little critters!
ReplyDeleteOh no, that's sad, but then we eat all kind of different creatures too.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Carmen.
I feel bad for them too. I think the same thing whenever I see a lobster tank in the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteaww tough luck
ReplyDeleteHow sad. Poor little things.
ReplyDeleteKat
Oh gosh, I'm with you - they look pitiful.
ReplyDeleteI got nervous when I am near of animals like those. They have nice colours but I can't resist.
