With nice weather these days, hang gliders are soaring from the cliffs over the Pacific in
record numbers. It's fun to watch the brightly colored craft, with their human passengers,
fly overhead, catching the updrafts, though sometimes they end up in the ocean!

ReplyDeleteWhoa! What a scenic place to hang glide. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty.
ReplyDeleteAs ussual, your view of Nature and coast give peace to my eyes. I am not only a rocker, now I like all kinds of music.
ReplyDeleteRegards my friend.

The scene is familiar, as I spent a lot of time on the CA coast, but seeing the hang gliders is unfamiliar. Spectacular shots!
ReplyDeleteYour header is gorgeous!
I always worry that I will see one of them crash.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures.

ReplyDeleteYou've got to be kidding! At 66, with my ample posterior, I'd never get off the ground!

It is a spectacular spot on the coast. I love parking there, with my sandwich and tea and watching them soar above me.

I am so lucky to live in this beautiful part of the world, only a five minute drive to the ocean and scenes such as this.

It's a pretty scary thought...just recently, a 62-year-old woman, a retired MD, in very great shape, did spend 12 hours in the water, until rescuers picked her up. She was just fine, though, thankfully.

Everyone seems to love hang gliding - I should have tried it in my youth but, even then, I was scared of open heights!

I still like the rock and roll of my era - the 60's - and even some of today's music but, now, I like jazz and songs from the Great American Songbook. I have several friends locally who sing...sadly, one moved to L. A. but does come up, occasionally to perform...give her a listen, sometime...www.sonyholland.com. Her husband is a terrific songwriter and guitarist.

I live in the Daly City - Pacifica area and these hang gliders are out on any good day.
I would really love to try that!
ReplyDeleteThey are man-made birds.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! While we have been to the Pacific a few times (mostly north), we have not seen a sight like this!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it would be fun ... but not landing in the ocean!
ReplyDeleteYou've really captured the beauty of Carmel. It's been so long since I was there.
ReplyDeleteJust plain fabulous!
ReplyDeletewe have similar sceneries Carmen, would love to try this actually one of these days.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs Carmen! It does look windy there.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try it! You take beautiful photos,
ReplyDeleteCarmen! :)

ReplyDeleteWell, Joan, if I ever win the lottery and you're brave enough to try it, I'll treat you to hang gliding lessons and the gear to do it!!!

Are there places in Malaysia where people hang glide?

In my area, just a few miles south of San Francisco, on the cliffs of Daly City, the hang gliders are out in great numbers!

You could come here to hang glide and then we could go out in Daly City for Filipino food - you know this is a huge area of Filipino families - you've probably heard of Daly City.

You really would NOT want to land in the cold Pacific and there have been great whites out here!

Actually, these photographs are way north of Carmel...in the Daly City area, about 110 miles north!

This Georgia girl has really loved it here...since I first saw the area when I was eighteen...and now I've been living here 34 years! I'm 66 now!
