Last Thursday, when I was in Ross, California, near Sausalito, to hear my friends,
Sony and Jerrry Holland in concert, there was a farmer's market in the parking lot
at the Marin Art and Garden Center site. There were all sorts of wonderful fresh
vegetables for sale - as well as scrumptious things to eat.
I fell in love with these pretty little minature squashes - though I opted for other,
more practical vegetables, more reasonably priced. I thought they were pefect
for mellow yellow, though.

Great looking fresh vegetable :)
ReplyDeleteDelightful little squashes. I love the way they've left the blossom on. My squashes are just blossoms so far, nothing else.

Yum! I love farmers' market season. Colorful!
ReplyDeleteLovely - and seasonal. This reminds me of your pics from a market in Barcelona, I think it was la Boqueria, wasn't it.

ReplyDeleteThose little minis were so cute...but too expensive. They also had edible flowers that were beautiful - with a high price tag.

I did bring home regular size zucchini and yellow squash from that farmer's market, both vgetables I really like - and some beautiful fresh kale.

The vegetables I bought that day were wonderful - a bit expensive but all organically grown!

California grows much of the produce and vegetables for the entire United States but that from the small farms, sold at farmer's markets is especially good.

I'm not a vegetarian but I do love vegetables, especially when they're fresh from small local farms.

I didn't buy the little mini squashes but I brought home regular size yellow squash and zucchini. They were superb.

I seldom get a chance to buy at the local farmer's markets so this was a real treat for me.

They certainly did a nice job of presenting their wares - very artistic way of selling vegetables!

It's quite nice, isn't it - the yellow and green, with the red peppers for accent!
