Shadow Shot Sunday, #169 - Shadows at San Francisco's De Young Museum - August 14, 2011

Knowing that I am not a fan of abstract art, I went to see the Picasso exhibit,
mainly to rendevous with my good friend, Joanne Olivieri, aka Poetic
Shutterbug.  We toured the rest of the De Young, needing to see art that
didn't require interpretion.  It was a fabulous day, ending up with a late
lunch, good music and our usual unbelievable brownie sundae at the Park
Chalet.

I am participting in Shadow Shot Sunday, #169 - check out
the site and join in the fun.

  4. I enjoyed the De Young museum very much on my last visit to San Francisco! There was a early Impressionism exhibit going on at the time

I am really looking forward to India. I wish I were as fit as I was in 1997 but I am now really feeling the effects of my back surgery 25 years ago and my arthritis is bothering me. Regardless, India will give me much joy!

I am so sorry I missed that Impressionist exhibit at the De Young - that is so much more appealing to me than Picasso!

    Joan -
That brownie sundae is huge - enough for two, especially if you've had something else to eat! It has two large brownies, two scoops of ice cream, as well!

So glad you liked this photo...the African art works were impressive but I loved the shadows, too.

We were not allowed to take flash photos at the museum but the lighting in most areas was excellent for photography - and I got several good shadow shots as well...of course, Jo
( Poetic Shutterbug )was with me and we were getting the same shots so you may see duplicates in our blogs!

Jo and I were hysterical that day, exclaiming about whether a shot was going to be good for different memes! We've gone crazy!

  9. Instead of seeing one, you have seen more, in the form of shadows.

  11. Shadow shots is an interesting idea. I remember seeing a movie that showed shadows that looked like this. I wish I could remember the name of it.

  14. What great shadow play on the wall!

    IF SHADOWS

    If shadows could jump,
    How high would they go?
    As high as the moon?
    Does anyone know?

    If shadows could weep,
    How long would they cry?
    As long as it takes
    To climb to the sky?

    If shadows could laugh
    And tell funny jokes
    Would you take them home
    And say, “Get this, folks!”?

    If shadows could wed,
    Would they prefer you
    Or somebody else
    To promise, “I do”?
