Shadow Shot Sunday, #169 - Shadows at San Francisco's De Young Museum - August 14, 2011

Knowing that I am not a fan of abstract art, I went to see the Picasso exhibit,
mainly to rendevous with my good friend, Joanne Olivieri, aka Poetic
Shutterbug.  We toured the rest of the De Young, needing to see art that
didn't require interpretion.  It was a fabulous day, ending up with a late
lunch, good music and our usual unbelievable brownie sundae at the Park

I am participting in Shadow Shot Sunday, #169 - check out
the site and join in the fun.

  1. Fantastic shadow shot.
I am looking forward to meet you in India.

  2. beautifully captured!

  3. You have good eyes, Carmen! Many of us would have missed the shadow. What an awesome shot!

  4. I enjoyed the De Young museum very much on my last visit to San Francisco! There was a early Impressionism exhibit going on at the time

Yum, I am thinking of your brownie sundae!
I have never been to that museum, need to go one of these days!

  6. Very good photo.
    Lovely composition.

  7. Rajesh -
I am really looking forward to India. I wish I were as fit as I was in 1997 but I am now really feeling the effects of my back surgery 25 years ago and my arthritis is bothering me. Regardless, India will give me much joy!

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti -
I am so sorry I missed that Impressionist exhibit at the De Young - that is so much more appealing to me than Picasso!

    Joan -
That brownie sundae is huge - enough for two, especially if you've had something else to eat! It has two large brownies, two scoops of ice cream, as well!

    Tatjana Parkacheva -
So glad you liked this photo...the African art works were impressive but I loved the shadows, too.

    magiceye -
We were not allowed to take flash photos at the museum but the lighting in most areas was excellent for photography - and I got several good shadow shots as well...of course, Jo
( Poetic Shutterbug )was with me and we were getting the same shots so you may see duplicates in our blogs!

    Icy BC -
Jo and I were hysterical that day, exclaiming about whether a shot was going to be good for different memes! We've gone crazy!

  8. beautiful new look rsane...

    here is my new space..

    luv 'alice'

  9. Instead of seeing one, you have seen more, in the form of shadows.

  10. That's gorgeous! Visiting here for shadow shot.

You can find my entry here, have a great week ahead!

  11. Shadow shots is an interesting idea. I remember seeing a movie that showed shadows that looked like this. I wish I could remember the name of it.

  12. oooh, I can't wait my vacation in San Francisco at the end of September!
    Thanks for reminding me :)

  13. They are unusual objects! Makes a really good shot.

  14. What great shadow play on the wall!

    If shadows could jump,
    How high would they go?
    As high as the moon?
    Does anyone know?

    If shadows could weep,
    How long would they cry?
    As long as it takes
    To climb to the sky?

    If shadows could laugh
    And tell funny jokes
    Would you take them home
    And say, “Get this, folks!”?

    If shadows could wed,
    Would they prefer you
    Or somebody else
    To promise, “I do”?
