Sundays in My City - A Bit of Color in the Sunset - March 27, 2011

San Francisco is always a delight to me.  My friend, Joanne Olivieri ( aka Poetic
Shutterbug ) has posted pictures of this house before but, a couple of weeks ago,
on my way back from my wonderful dentist, Dr. Quoch, I was driving around and
decided to get some photographs of this place myself.  I guess the owners must be
used to folks poking about with their cameras.

I am taking part in Unknown Mami's Sundays In My City.
Check it out and add your contribution to enrich our day!

  1. The owner must feel very delighted or annoying if he go blogging.

I do not like to be the owner.

  6. Every time I visit you and see the pictures of the S.F. houses, I get homesick. True, it's a momentary pang because I don't think I could go back to city living ever again but it is an enchanted city. A city that is unique because of the people. Sigh! Oh, well, I'll just eat up your gorgeous photos.

  10. I wonder what the owner is like. He/she has got to be a free spirit, maybe an artist....definitely whimsical. I'm glad you posted these photos!

  11. These are awesome shots Carmen. That little horse is new, haven't seen him before. I am so curious as to who lives there. I never see anyone around. We should go knock on their door someday and ask if we could do a story on them :)

I know the owner gets a lot of folks out front taking pictures! And, even if they're not taking pictures, it's quite a tourist attraction!

Happy Sunday to you, Myriam, and thank you for your vist! I'm happy to see you. The house is such fun but it looks like it needs repainting. That will really be a task!

This "Sundays In My City" meme is such fun. I enjoy visiting other places this way. Especially since my budget, now that I'm retired, really doesn't allow me much travel!

It is quite a house. I wonder how long it took the ownder to put it all together!

    Icy BC -
I am in that neighborhood so often and I'm always stopping to get a good look at that place. I have never seen anyone out and about there, though.

There is no other city in the U. S., to me, that has the charm of San Francisco. It captured me when I was 18 and, at 66, I still love it. I've traveled the world, seen some of the most wondrous places, and I think it can hold its own.

I would love to meet the owner of the home, to get a feel for what he's like. He must be a really interesting person...and I'll bet the inside is quite a showplace.

    Kristin - The Goat -
I always wonder about the family that lives in the house...perhaps some California artistic type whose art work embellishes the place!

All my photographs have been taken from inside my car. So far, I haven't been daring enough to get right out front and photograph but...one of these days, I will!

I think my friend, Jo, aka Poetic Shutterbug, should make it our mission to do some sleuthing to find out more about the person who owns that house. Somebody has to know something!

    Trotter -
That house is in a section of the city known as the Sunset and "Land's End" - Great Highway is across the street and then the beach. Not exactly, the Cote de Azur but nice, nonetheless.

    Life with Kaishon -
I think the owner of the house must have a great sense of humor and whimsy.

    Sharkbyte -
The house reminds me of some of the wonderful murals on houes in San Francisco's Mission District. They are true works of art.

I am so happy you visited and enjoyed this San Francisco showplace.

I am so sorry to hear that you visited to San Francisco and I didn't get to meet you. I would so much have loved to see you for lunch or coffee or whatever we could have arranged!

    Ron -
Thank you so much for the nice wishes. Please visit again.

You always brighten my day with your visits! You must come up so Jo and I can take you to see all these places in person!
