Sad Valentine - Flash 55 Friday

It's that time of the week again! Join in the fun, write a work of fiction in 55 words on your blog and let G-Man know at Mr. KnowItAll.
 Sad Valentine

I know I’ll be at home alone,
When Valentine’s is here,
I’ll probably sip a glass of wine,
And maybe shed a tear.

I thought our love was limitless,
I fell for all your charms,
I couldn’t think quite rationally,
When I was in your arms.

Being blinded by love is not a good thing!

  2. Where do you find all of these cool memes? Anna and I keep trying to follow in your footsteps, but we don't write as well. Anna took a photo for the "Alphabe-Thursday" challenge that she started after seeing your post!
I don't think I'll be able to make the grade for "Flash 55", so it will be either PhotoHunt tomorrow or maybe "Fluffy Friday" today. I am just an ordinary little house cat!

  6. There's nothing quite like Valentine's Day to remind us of our broken relationships. But, like you, I would rather be alone than blind.

    A perfect 55!

  7. I will be there with you
    Sipping tea instead of wine
No tears, but just funny jokes
Laughing in the face of Valentine!

  11. Me too....but it's good to be able to laugh about it now ten years later. I'd rather be alone and happy instead of with him and sad.

  12. Better be alone than to be with a bad valentine.

Here is happy Valentine to you!

  13. Valentine is one of the toughest day around, more tears and more heartaches than at any other times.

Once I was so drunk, while trying to obtain my A-level at school, writing an essay about a kite.
It took me a further year and another love to reach my goal.
Thank you for the memories and a wonderful weekend for you as well.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my Valentine 55.

    Sara Katt -
The memes are helpful, sometime, when you're drawing a blank on what to post!

    Hootin' Anni -
I was trying to keep the 55 with a Valentine's
theme. And thanks so much for the info on the hyperlink tutorial!!

    magiceye -
It is nice to be in love. I can remember those days. Now I just love my wonderful friends all
    over the world.

    Brian Miller -
I definitely can relate to that feeling of intoxication with love, even if you haven't had a single drink!

    Felicitas -
So happy to see you following my blog! Welcome.

    Icy BC -
I'd love to laugh with you on Valentine's Day!!

Don't feel bad! This Valentine poem was fiction for flash 55. While I've certainly had relationships end, I don't really ever recall having a sad Valentine's.

    Dulce -
In reality, I've always had nice Valentine's, when I was in a relationship...they'd usually end AFTERWARDS!

    steviewren -
Amen, I definitely prefer my own company and being a bit lonely to being miserable with someone.

    Mona -
Thanks for the Valentine wishes. I got a lovely card and two huge Niederegger dark chocolate covered marzipan bars from a dear friend who is a food and beverage manager with Royal Caribbean. Sometimes my dear friends are
    better than sweethearts!

    lakeviewer -
I can remember how painful Valentine's could be in my younger days...not so anymore.

    EastCoastLife -
Well, you've got it made, then!

    Nanny Goats in Panties -
I have always loved your blog name. I hope your
    Valentine's weekend is wonderful.

    ShAKirA CHOONG -
I have definitely had my share of romances in my life...it's been like the United Nations!

    ρομπερτ -
I am sitting here at 2AM, laughing so much at your post, imagining you drunk and trying to write about a kite. Happy Valentine's in Athens!

    g-man -
This flash 55 is fun. I'm not sure how I got started but I enjoy it.

    Ratty -
It sounds like there are a few of us who been in a sort of "broken hearts" club!

    Bernie -
I had some wonderful Valentine's days with terrific guys. Sadly, one died a few years back - I mentioned him in one of my blogs.

  24. You know, I have always thought Valentine's Day was a cruel holiday for those who don't have a "valentine." Do they still have that deal in grade school where the kids "mail" those little paper valentines to their classmates in a cupids-and-hearts-decorated box, and the valentines are then distributed to the lucky recipients? I hope not.
