Friday Flash 55 - Jaipur Iron Man - July 27, 2012

Hot as hell in Jaipur,

Outside, under a tree,

This man busily irons,

And is paid in an Indian rupee.

And if it isn't hot enough,

His iron has charcoal heat,

But he smiles and keeps on working,

His handiwork nice and neat.

Thankfully, my wardrobe, 

for the most part, wash and wear,

leaves me without a care.

Friday Flash 55 - Not Gone, But Forgotten - November 11, 2011

I'm stilll around,

Not posting much,

A couple days a week or such.

It's been just hell,

Sorting through my life,

Discarding much has caused such strife.

I'm nearly done,

The end's in sight,

December 1st, I'll board my flight.

I'll have four months,

To get to know,

An exotic country that I love so.

Friday Flash 55 - The Rose of Love - May 20, 2011

Her eyes were full of tears today,

Fifty years ago he'd passed away,

But her love continued eternally true,

For none but Billy would ever do.

The rose they planted together,

Each spring,continued to bloom,

In front of their tiny cottage,

Fifty years of fragrant perfume.

A scent surely scattered on loving angel wings!

Friday Flash 55 - Raging at Cancer - March 11, 2011

Today, my nose is cancer free,

For that, I am most grateful,

But the quite extensive surgery,

Has left me feeling hateful.

 

They had to do a skin flap,

To close the wound it made,

Now I'll look like Frankenstein,

If I have my face displayed.

Well, I need to get myself a veil!

I can't believe the headlines,

Snow may be on its way,

For San Francisco natives,

We don't know what to say!

I had lived here just a month,

When snowfall made the news,

In the thirty-five years since,

We've had no wintery blues!

Imagine all the crazy thrills,

With snow adhering to our hills!

Every day was agony,

She treated him the same,

Calling him a loser,

She was a hateful dame.

Twenty years of marriage,

He'd been a faithful spouse,

He gave her every paycheck,

And bought her this nice house!

He left behind some money, heading for the door,

With his lottery winnings, he'd return no more!

Bought the finest of champagnes,

He took the greatest pains.

The first course oysters did not thrill,

They made his date deathly ill.
