Camera Critters - Young Seagull - December 11, 2010

Camera Critters - Young Seagull - December 11, 2010

I knew this wasn't a senior citizen as I watched him after dropping off my son at the train
station for his morning commute.  This little fellow was small and quite skittish as I was
throwing out corn flakes to the birds.  He was even intimidated by the little sparrows
fighting for their share.

I am participating in Camera Critters - join us!!

  1. Your header changes in a heartwarming design.
Yes. It seems to suggest that happiness descends to you.

The birth celebration of your grandchild!!
The baby smile will encourage you.
    It is the best treasure.

The family gives the dream of the eternity.
And it may be power to overcome the difficulty of the lives.
You have a lot of them.
So. There is infinite possibility in those inside.

    You are blessed.

    Thank you.

  12. Gulls seem so wise, but I think they are listening for fish!

  18. Consider my poetry book when you're Christmas shopping - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy – it’s out on Amazon ( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well ) I finally did it at the age of 65!

    ruma -
You are right. In spite of many problems, I do have some wonderful blessings, not the least of which is the excitement of welcoming my first grandchild in late summer. That will give me so much to anticipate!!

    rainfield61 -
No Christmas party for me this year but I might take some treats out for the birds and squirrels!

    Irredento Urbanita -
It was kind of strange to see this single little
seagull all by itself. Usually, there are hordes of them together.

    magigeye -
This gull was just a couple of feet from my van but he wouldn't come any closer. The ones Jo and I feed at Golden Gate Park will almost take the food right out of your hand.

    Dulce -
I have to admit, though a little skittish, this seagull was pretty cooperative.

    Ratty -
It seems like the best shots come along when I DON'T have my camera. I try to keep it with me all the time now!

    Brian Miller -
Seagulls can really be aggressive. Usually, they beat out the other birds which kind of annoys me, especially the little ones who don't
stand a chance against the big guys.

    Poetic Shutterbug -
This guy didn't have the personality of Manfred...in fact, I don't think I've ever met another gull who charmed me the way Manfred did.

    allhorsestuff -
You are so right about that gull - as he grows in size and experience, he'll surely stake a claim in the handouts!

    Iowa Gardening Woman -
Seagulls can be a demanding lot - but you don't have them in your area. I'm not sure which bird with which to compare them in terms of their usual aggressiveness.

    jane -
This gull was really docile but, once he had a few pounds on him, I think he'll be a lot more demanding for food!

    ρομπερτ -
It's nice when you have a subject that is fairly cooperative and willing to pose for a handout!
Hope your week ahead is nice and pleasant.

    Sharkbytes (TM) -
Usually, there are so many gulls, they really have to battle for food. This little guy was all alone except for little birds. He must have lost his way from the rest of his clan.

    chubskulit -
Glad you liked my little gull.

    Indrani -
It took this little gull awhile but he finally caught on and learned he had to hustle or the other birds would get all the food.

    ladyfi -
I don't think this little gull will remain shy too long!

    eileeninmd -
My little gull friend certain was a photographer's ideal model!

    HOOTIN'ANNI -
Gulls, sometimes, seem to take over the beaches but this little one was a bit off track, near the Millbrae train station - not too far from the ocean or the bay, but there were no other gulls around.

    Jenny -
Thanks for visiting. The Christmas header was a free Bing.com clip art.
