Alphabe Thursday - "L" Is for Laughter - December 16, 2010
"L" is for laughter,
So good for the soul,
An inward feeling of joy,
It can make one feel whole!
Short weeks after birth,
Babies learn to beguile,
And captivate all,
With a laugh or a smile.
They say, even animals,
Know how to laugh,
I've heard of hyenas,
But imagine a giraffe!
Laughter is contagious,
So don't let it end,
Once you get started,
Share with a friend!
Some people are shy,
And make barely a sound,
While others guffaw,
With a noise most profound.
They say that laughter,
Can help relieve pain,
Because of an effect,
It has on the brain!
I think that all of us,
Should laugh a bit more,
Be it a giggle,
Or a more hearty roar!

I have a bit of a reputation for laughing uncontrollably in sometimes inappropriate situations (class, church). Often people around me start laughing, too, just because it's so ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha, we had sthe same idea, do you feel better now ?
ReplyDeleteBack from UK and catching up with your blog. Thanks for the smile.

Great poem, Carmen. There used to be a laughter club in my town. It would meet just after sunrise and laugh and do yoga for about 20 minutes. At least that's what I've been told. I think I'll check it's still around. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteCarmen, What a fun rhyme. Laughter in spite of hardship is always the best medicine.
