Life's Journey - Flash 55 Friday, 5-21-10
A dream of mine,
At last come true,
A book of poems,
Long overdue!
I never thought
I’d get it done,
But it moved along,
Once I’d begun.
A lifetime’s worth,
Of thoughts in rhyme,
Experiences gathered,
Over time.
Memories triggered,
As I wrote,
At times, a lump,
Felt in my throat.
Done at last!
Done at last!

If you would like to tell a tale in exactly 55 words, post it and go and tell the G-Man
At the age of 65, I've finally fulfilled a lifelong dream. Nothing like taking one's time, right, but as the saying goes, better late than never! Life's Journey, my first book of poetry, is available at https://www.createspace.com/3439758. It will also be on Amazon.com in about a week to ten days.
Life's Journey
Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well.
If you order it, regardless, let me know, since they do not notify me individually who buys it. If you'll send me your home address via email or the private message section of facebook, I'll send you an autographed sticker to attach to the inside. Also, if you like the book, whether you buy it from Amazon or the createspace store, I'd appreciate it if you'd write a review.
Many, many thanks. This is so exciting for me and I must thank Joanne Olivieri for all her help in making this possible!
"The Forensic Nurse" is in this book!
Congratulations on completing your book! An exciting way to let us all know in a great 55.

ReplyDeleteChef Kar - welcome home to the USA - Sarasota will certainly be different from Milan!
ReplyDeleteBrian Miller - I just wish I'd gotten off my duff and done it all sooner. My mom would have been so proud of it...I'll show it to her but she won't even realize what it is now.
ReplyDeleteKamana - I hope I live long enough to get a second book out!!
ReplyDeleteIcy BC - thanks for your good wishes!
ReplyDeleteYvonne Osborne - the cover is a picture I took in Bali, Indonesia. I thought that dancer was one of the most beautiful and colorful women I've ever seen. Her poem is in my book. If you do a book, use createspace.com. It's a division of Amazon and you self publish for free!
ReplyDeleteJohn's comments - thanks for stopping by my 55 - hope you check out my poetry book!
ReplyDeleteSh@KiR@ CK - somehow, I never can seem to comment on your page...you'll have to send me your email so I can do it that way! Thanks for
ReplyDeletealways stopping by!
ruma2008 - I wish I had a poem about Japan in my book - I'll work on it for volume two which I'll have to begin on right now since it seems to take me a long time to get it done!!
ReplyDeleteEnchanted Oak - if only I could write poetry like you do! You actually should use creatspace.com to self publish a book of your wonderful works. It costs nothing.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fun weekend at Big Sur!
Alice Audrey - so what was the title of your book? I hope it didn't take you sixty five years to get it done!
ReplyDeleteG-Man - I guess life interfered with my getting the book done! Now I need to start work on another!

ReplyDeleteLorenzo — Alchemist's Pillow - thank you for that great quote by George Eliot. I had not heard it - and thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteSharkbytes - you are hysterical...me on the cover? I took that photo in 1997 when I was in Bali. I was a lot skinnier back then. That dancer inspired me so much I did write a poem about her!
ReplyDeletebetchai - maybe you can get a deal on the two books together! Thanks for the good wishes!

ReplyDeleteShiju Sugunan - Shiju, I don't know about India shipping but I could always deliver a book in person in October!! Maybe I can take India orders and make the rounds. That would be exciting.
ReplyDeleteI have not been keeping up, Or have forgotten that you "retired" early. But you're not alone in that. Sure get the impression that you are resilient, and not a quitter. Persistence in living and being busy is one road to being happy, you are teaching me.
