  7. Hi Carmen, I know you have visited my place before but I am surprised I don't remember ever coming over to your place. I sure made a mistake there. congratulations on the book. I will sure look for it. Your line of work is so interesting to me, the forensic part I mean. Of course the RN.

  11. Carmen, The getting cloudier shot is gorgeous. Pacifica is always beautiful, rain, shine or fog drenched.

My poetry book - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy - is out on Amazon!! Finally, at the age of 65, I did it!
( These are poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )

  15. Hootin' Anni - I am so fortunate to live less than three miles from the Pacific! I love the ocean, too, and I've done 88 cruises in my lifetime, all over the world. Being at sea gives me so much serenity and peace.

  17. Mariposa - I was pleased with the shot of the pine needles and the rain. I am going to get out more in rainy weather and see if I can capture that type of photograph.

  18. Queenmothermawma - I have really sad in the 15 months since my forensic nursing position of 21 years ended. It was the passion of my life really - not easy dealing with rape and child sexual abuse cases but very rewarding. Four of us covered 24/7 for all cases in San Francisco. We saw victims, collected evidence, testified in court, did special forensic interviews of children for the police, social services. I miss the work terribly and, also, the income. I retired with a half time pension...my income had dropped from $140,000 a year to under $50,000!

  20. Kamana - you see how dark our cold Pacific waters are compared to your warm tropical ones!

  21. Bree - it is true, in my 21 years of forensic nursing, I have seen and heard some pretty sad stories, nothing happy, unfortunately. Many of my patients, adults and children, suffered severe emotional trauma. I like to think that the time they spent with me helped them on their way to recovery.

  23. Poetic Shutterbug - it is beautiful in Pacific, though sometimes it is hardly visible because of the fog!!

  24. Ratty - I'm just like you. I could look at the ocean forever. I am so lucky to be less than three miles from the Pacific. Sometimes I do drive over and gaze out for an hour! That is one of the reason I've loved cruising. I've been on some of the world's great oceans and seas and I've loved the transatlantic and Pacific crossings with their six sea days! It's glorious!
