It always seems to me that Indian women are dressed up when clad in their saris. Even
for every day wear, they look so elegant. I spotted this entourage last year when I was
in Jaipur. Wish I could have gotten a bit closer for some better shots.
I am participating in
and
I wonder why we have to dress in boring black - why don't we have more color choices, colorful fabrics.....
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
Not only are the saris colorful, they are often beaded and have little mirrors on them...and these are for everyday wear! The fancy saris are unbelievable.
DeleteLove the color and I wonder where they are all going?! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteI wondered myself since it was a weekday afternoon.
DeleteHello Carmen,
ReplyDeleteThey are beautifully dressed; I love the blue touches. Thanks for sharing your blues.
Happy Blue Monday!
Even the poorest of women seem to dress so beautifully in these saris.
DeleteThere it was. Lovely. I think the saris are so wonderful in colours.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day.

While I have bought some Indian outfits, I've avoided saris .They just seem so complicated to wrap.
DeleteWomen should try colorful fabrics. I have some saris in my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteIndia does love their color!
ReplyDeleteThat is for sure....even the men have their bright turbans.
DeleteThey do seem to have it right don't they...gorgeous vibrant colours everywhere.
ReplyDeleteOur blacks must seem very boring to them. I'm going to try to make a conscious effort to add more colour today! ;D
Happy Blue Monday!
I love bright colors myself and, rarely wear anything subdued....give me bright purples, yellows, aquas...not the pastel pinks.
DeleteColors! I always fancied wearing a sari. Once I saw my niece (FB photos) dressed up in sari during church socials. I thought she also looked like an Indian woman :) Love that yellow sari because it has purple in it and purple is one of my fave colors. The blue is very lovely too.
ReplyDeleteHazel
The saris are quite beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours! I'm so tired of all the black clothing we have, especially in the winter - no colours anywhere!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday
So true...India seems to be the most colorful of all in terms of wear. In Japan, except for their gorgeous kimonos, women were rather someberly dressed.
DeleteBeautiful photos! And a belated happy birthday. We were on the road!
ReplyDeleteCheers from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!
Thanks for the birthday wishes. It was a great day.
DeleteWhat gorgeous colors and those are just everyday attire?
ReplyDeleteThese women were out on a weekday...not sure where they were going...but, yes, their saris were just regular ones....bright and colorful...but you should see the fancy saris on special occasions. Unbelievable.
DeleteGreat photo - I agree I could look at the beautiful Indian women and their elegant sari's all day long - It's got to make you feel happy dressed in colour.
ReplyDeleteWrenx
I like saris. My friend who has married an Indian has her closet full of very precious saris. In the beginning of their marriage she wore them on special occasions, now 40 years later she doesn't wear them anymore, lol ! Looks too exotic in Belgium !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and colorful.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think, by now, I could stop being mesmerized by saris...I don't own one though I have bought several Indian outfits. I would need someone to help me wrap it!!!
DeleteThey are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAren't they lovely, Pat. I have purchased several kurta outfits...like the comfort of pants...and I don't think I could ever master wrapping a sari.
DeleteIndia is such a wonderful, colourful country! I posted a pic from India today too:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing on Mandarin Orange Monday #62.
