Signs, Signs - A Sign Near the Vatican in Rome - August 8, 2013

It has been awhile since I participated in this meme which I really enjoy.  I
haven't seen any really interesting signs lately - but I was going through some
pictures from my 64th birthday in Rome, nearly five years ago now, and came
across this one at a little cafe where I stopped for a bite to eat while my
friends were finishing up a tour I had already taken.  You had to step down
to get into the little eatery and I got a kick out of the sign above the steps.

I can think of a few other places a sign like that might be a good idea!!!

Signs, Signs - Awful Annie's - May 15, 2013

Last month, I had lunch at "Awful Annie's" in the quaint gold country town of
Auburn, California which is not too far from Lake Tahoe.  I was with my lovely
daughter-in-law, Laura, and my new granddaughter, Harper Ann, who debuted
on April 14th.  Harper slept through our entire meal which was certainly nice
for us.  I wondered about the sign, "Awful Annie's" and why Annie earned that
nickname.  The restaurant was lovely - homey with lots of warm, welcoming
decor and a fabulous menu.  The food was excellent - we had trouble making
up our minds what to eat!  I left without finding out why Annie earned the name
"awful" but it is emblazoned on the menus and the signs everywhere.

Signs, Signs - Size Does Matter - September 20, 2012

I came across a new Thursday meme which looks like fun.  I've never
participated before but I'm sure I'll return.  My sign photo is from Camelot
Fish and Chips in Pacifica, California.  Though I'd lived in the area for
over 20 years, I'd never eaten there.  I just happened to be at the post
office, in that neighborhood,  when the hungries hit me.  Other than all
the calories, the fish and chips were delicious, close to what I had with
my British friends in Rye.  I did have a Guinness with my meal but I
opted out of the fried Mars Bar.
