Orange You Glad It's Friday - Orange Sari Clad Motorcyclist in Jaipur - September 6, 2013

Jaipur, Rajasthan, India seems to be much stricter with its helmet laws than
Mumbai.  Most often, drivers do wear helmets ( sans the chip strap much of the
time, though, which is of great concern to me ).  I am always reminding them
that, without it, the helmet is merely a decoration and won't protect their brain
if they are in an accident or hit a bump ( India has so many potholes! ).

Often, you will see the second passenger wearing a helmet as well - though
children won't have them on.

Here we have my "orange" for today - a lady, clad in an orange sari, riding
"pinion" - this was a new word for me when I came to India.  Motorcycles
really scare me and, if I would ever ride one ( which I doubt ), I would have
to have both legs straddling the cycyle.

I am participating in

Add your bit of orange to join in the fun.

  7. Great find for OYGIF. I have tried riding once when I was young with my uncle. I was scared to death and I swore never to ride again. :)

  10. What a blazing orange color. Kind of different scene from SF, no?

  11. I cannot believe they allow a child to ride without a helmet and I would be afraid to ride side saddle.
