I had a very brief visit to New Delhi, much of it spent in the efforrs to bring
forensic nursing to this part of the world. My friend and colleague, Virginia
Lynch, and I managed a whirlwind rickshaw ride about the city and arrived
at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the presidential palace as the sun was beginning to set.
Rashtrapati Bhavan, is the largest residence of any head of state in the world.

I was so in awe at this scene. I wish I could have spent more time here.
DeleteThe sunset, sunrise and even spending the nights at and around the Rastrapati Bhavan and India Gate...... I love being there..
ReplyDeleteOnly about two weeks left for me, Hitesh, and I am so sad that we did not meet. I find myself near tears all the time now....mourning my departure, grateful for all the people I did see and the places I visited. I've been happier here than anywhere in my life and I just wish I had the budget to return. I am going o try. Then you will be first on the list.
DeleteWhat a grand scene. My Mellow Yellow, have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt was, indeed, spectacular but I had no time to really explore. I needed six months in India, my original plan....and I hope to come back...really, I'd like to spend my final years, half time here and half time in the US.
DeleteThat is awesome!
ReplyDeleteMYM
So much in India has been awesome. I have cherished my four months here .... hope to be back every year I have left of my life, if I can, somehow, manage it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect time of day to see it! I'm sure it's beautiful at any time but the colour of the sky is stunning.
ReplyDeletebeautifully captured!
ReplyDeleteCarmen I can't believe I haven't kept up with your extraordinarily evocative adventures - I suppose I was busy having some of my own in Asia... but this omission shall be easily remedied. Looking forward to catching up on all the mirch masala :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the beauty of antique buildings.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous sight-- And the gates-- They look like lace against the sky :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your final days in India. I can't believe how fast time time's gone.
