Thanksgiving Greetings - November 24, 2011

Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone

No time for poetry today, dear family and friends. Things are slowly
beginning to fall into place but, to be truthful, I'm still not ready to leave.
My youngest son, Jeremy, has been coming over daily, after work, to
help me, giving me grief, in a loving way, about the need for haste and
warning me that my storage space is nearly full.  He thinks I need to
discard everything I have left ( impossible ).

December 1st is my departure day for India and I wonder if I'm going
to have to postpone it again.  If I do, I won't get any flights over the
holiday season, I know.  I won't be doing any Thanksgiving day feasting,
though I've had several kind invitations.

While you are with family and friends today, offer a little prayer
that I do get finished and out of here and on my way to India.

Once again, please bear with me.  I haven't responded to all your kind
comments or read blogs which distresses me greatly.  I promise to
catch up once I get settled in India and get internet access.  I love you
all and wish you joy and happiness.  You all are one of my "thanks"
on this special day.  I am especially thankful to my friends and family
and I am thankful to be an American, even in this time of stress for
our country.

My biggest thanks this season are to my youngest son, Jeremy, for all
he has done to help me get moved and on my way to India.  He has worked
long days and nights and I appreciate it more than I can say.

  4. My thoughts are very much with you, Carmen. Don't be distressed about any of us. We'll still be here when you are ready and I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say all we want is for you to have a wonderful time in India. It will do you a world of good. Do what you have to do to get there.

    Have a happy thanksgiving in whatever form works best for you.

    And I'll fly you to India if you have to postpone your flight again.

    But I do not think you will need this.

    Still here in CA, departure set for Dec 1, if I get moved from this house!

    @betchai -
    While I would love your physical presence to help, I am happily accepting prayers, at any time...even when I no longer am in packing chaos!

    @Josep -
    I always know I can count on your support. Jeremy, slave driver that he is, is keeping me on task. I was happy, though, for our day's reprieve in West Sac at Alex and Laura's!

    @Sheila @ A Postcard a Day -
    I've never so much looked forward to 20 hours of flying! I will probably sleep most of that time...after a couple of martinis!

    I know you'll be standing by to hear from me when I finally get online from India...and you will be receiving postcards!

    @ρομπερτ -
    I got a lot done this weekend - even with taking Sat off for a belated Thanksgiving with my middle son and his wife in West Sac. Alex came down today to give Jeremy a hand with hauling things to the dump and putting things in storage. It's so much easier when there are two big strong guys to do the work - and to keep me on task!

    @Icy BC -
    I would not even be near India bound without Jeremy, that's for sure. I know he will be so glad to get Mama out of his hair!

    @Sharkbytes -
    Worked really hard on Thanksgiving day and Friday so we could celebrate on Saturday up in West Sac with Laura and Alex and the granddogs. Then after working a 4AM to 8AM Safeway shift, Alex came down today and pitched in...good sport!

    @Joanna Jenkins -
    If I keep my nose to the grindstone this next two days, it looks like I just might make my Thursday morning flight - and I'll sleep all the way to my plane change in Seoul, I'll bet.

    @Retiredandcrazy -
    The way you get around, Ann, it wouldn't surprise me at all to get an email telling me you're coming to town - and what fun I would have with you in India. Have you been there before? If not, I'm sure it won't be long, gadabout that you are. We know what carrier you won't be flying, though!

    @Glynis -
    Racing the clock...and, somewhere in there, I must get a manicure and pedicure, for heavens sake. Every finger nail is broken, what with hauling boxes and breaking apart furniture, etc.

    @Welshcakes Limoncello -
    It was a nice Thanksgiving though we celebrated two days later when my daughter-in-law was finally off duty. It was great seeing my middle son and the granddogs and Laura is a great cook.

    @rainfield61 -
    With all the critters you know, I could probably arrive in India in great style - ladybugs and damselflies and all sorts of exotic birds from the mountains of Malaysia!

    @Diahann Chappell -
    One of these days, you, Silvia and I will have our long overdue reunion. We should get Paula in on it, too! Jeremy and I went up to W. Sac on Saturday for a belated Thanksgiving dinner at Alex and Laura's - very nice!
