Macro Flowers Saturday - Red Roses - October 29, 2011

Now that autumn is definitely here, with the leaves displaying their brilliant
colors and temperatures plummeting downward, florist bouquets and
photographs are the only way we'll be seeing many of our favorite flowers for
a few months!

Of course, we could always board an airplane and head to tropical climes for
a floral fix - or we can enjoy Macro Flowers Saturday from the comfort of home!

I am participating in Macro Flowers Saturday -
add your flower photographs to brighten up our autumn day!

  11. Hi Carmen! Sorry for the absence, but these last two months have been nasty! My mother (90) was in hospital for more than three weeks and the post-surgery was hard! My father (94) seemed to be orphan while my mother was out and felt into some kind of depression... The economy is a disaster and the media only bring bad news... The € Euro is rescued every day, only to be known that it needs to be rescued again and again... What else? Well, maybe «Midnight in Paris»... The problem is that the Gil there is a different one... ;)

    Great shots!

Blogtrotter Two wanders currently around Porto Vecchio and the beaches in the region! Enjoy and have a wonderful week ahead!

  14. Thank you for your visit to my blog and your very kind comment. I read your bio and it sounds like you had a fascinating job. I'm sorry you had to retire early from it but am glad you had a chance to travel so extensively beforehand. I love travel too but I think you easily best me in travel. I haven't even been on one cruise. I love the water but like my feet on solid ground, lol.

I found these roses in a yard up the street from my house. The owner must have thought I was nuts, in her driveway, wiith my camera!

I wish I knew the name of that rose. They were so intensely red and looked gorgeous, next to their yellow neighbors.

Yes, brilliant autumn foliage makes up for the lack of flowers. I wish I had a chance to get up to the Sierra to see some of that.

Mother Nature really pulled out the stops with this incredible rose, didn't she?

That header is one of my favorite of all my photos - it's a spot near me on the Pacific coast.

I'd like to have a lipstick the exact shade of this rose. It's stupendous!

Fire engine red, for sure...a perfect description of the color of this rose.

It is an amazing color, Joan. I've seen blue red roses but this one is very unique.

It's been hard to get excited about India, I've been so busy with packing and getting my belongings in storage. I'm sure I'll be thrilled once that major task is accomplished.

That color red would be most tantalizing if waved in front of a bull! There's nothing sedate about it, that's for sure.

    Indrani -
I must agree...intoxicating is a good word for this color red.

Hello, Amanda...looks like our long hoped for lunch may happen after March 29th when I return from India....so little time! Too bad, I want so much for us to meet.

I'm bordering on psychotic. India trip had to be postponed because I'm still not out of the house...working like crazy - flight changed to Korean Air out of LA on the 14th of Nov. I'll stop over in Seoul for two days...I've never been to Korea and it was free to make the stop!

Very sad news about your mother. My last visit to GA, almost 2-1/2 years ago, I found my mother in her recliner ( she was living alone ), having suffered a stroke. She was hospitalized and is now in extended care. It is so hard to have aging parents, especially when one is so far away. Thankfully, my brother and his wife had just moved back to the Atlanta area.

I'm off to spend five months in India...leave Nov 14th, with two days in Seoul. I haven't been traveling so this is exciting for me.
