Flash 55 Friday - Stoned - November 19, 2010

Flash 55 Friday - Stoned - November 19, 2010

My night was filled with awful pain,
I tossed and turned, tried not to groan,
But it mattered not what I did,
I was beaten down by a little stone.

It didn't pass but lies there still,
Somewhere along my urine's path,
So off I go to see relief,
In such pain, I feel no wrath.

  11. I've never had a kidney stone (thank goodness) but I've been told about the pain it entails - you have my sympathy! Hope you soon find relief.

    Very descriptive 55!

  14. Consider my poetry book when you're Christmas shopping - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy – it’s out on Amazon ( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well ) I finally did it at the age of 65!

Yep, no other kind of stoned - though it might help with the pain if I were stoned, otherwise!

    Brian Miller -
The stone is still with me...we're playing the waiting game.

    Eric Alder -
I'm drinking cranberry juice and gallons of water but the stone is still there. I think my docs are going to have to help it exit.

    G-Man -
While you're cheering your football teams and chowing down on turkey and the trimmings, I'm still on that horrible no fiber diet and doing the stone mantra.

    Sheila -
That daisy field is about three miles from my house. I love the spot though, now in winter, it isn't tha glorious.

It amazes me that, one minute, I can be in the most agonizing pain, the next, it has completely stopped hurting. I think I might have passed it, then I go to the doc, have it x-rayed and it's still there...then the next minute, I'm dying again.

    Jingle -
Keep those prayers coming...that stone is still there!

I hope I'm free of that stone soon, too - unfortunately, I've got at least a dozen more in there!

    Maria -
I wonder how many of us have had kidney stones -a good portion of the population, I'm sure.

The stone is still there - my regular doctor is away and his partner seems to want to wait it out as long as it isn't hurting me too much.

    Akelamalu -
My brother has kidney stones, as well, but his are of another type.

    Welshcakes Limoncello -
I've been totally pain free all day, thankfully. Hope it stays this way, at least till Dr. Kahn returns from his vacation next Friday. His partner is nice but, if I need to have the stone removed, I prefer the urologist I've been going to for years.

This is about my fifth bout with stones. I've got plenty more that I might have to deal with and I dread it!

  16. I am so very sorry to hear how much pain you are suffering. My sister had a kidney stone and had to have surgery and she was really in so much pain. My heart goes out to you. You've had so many struggles lately yet you keep your wonderful, shining spirit.
