I am so glad to see that Gemma Wiseman is continuing the cheerful yellow theme on
Mondays! Though I am 7000 miles away from my beloved India, I still have many
photos from there - to tug at my heart until I can return, hopefully by mid-May.
This lady I caught from my auto rickshaw as she crossed the street near me.
I am participating in Monday Mellow Yellows -
add your spot of yellow photo to join in the fun!
Love this rich golden yellow! The woman seems so lost in her own world as she walks! Lovely photo!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you so much for linking up to my new Monday Mellow Yellows meme!
I lived in India a total of nine months out of the last year. I never ceased to be amazed by the beautiful saris.
Deleteeye-catching colors!

The saris of India are so beautiful...I didn't buy one, though...wrapping them seemed impossible to me.
DeleteVery beautiful sari with the yellow scarf !

DeleteNice candid shot. Lovely and eye-catching color :)
ReplyDeleteI have dozens of pictures of beautiful saris...even living nine months in India last year, I was forever mesmerized by their color and the varieties, some jeweled and mirrored.

Thanks, Liz...looking at my India photos brings back such wonderful memories. Hopefully, I'll return in mid-May, after I recover from my total shoulder surgery.

ReplyDeleteVisiting from MMY -- Have a happy week!
That's just how I felt my nine months of living in Mumbai & Jaipur. The brilliance and color of the saris was amazing.
DeleteWhat I like about yellow, is the fact, that it can never be a dark colour.
ReplyDeletePlease have a good Tuesday.
Yellow is wonderfully cheerful - it's always been a favorite of mine...that and royal blue!
DeleteVery colorful. India is one country that is colorful. ^_^
ReplyDeleteKim,USA
You're right, Kim...a gathering of women is phenomenal...especially if it's a festival or special occasion & they are in their best saris.
DeleteI would think that you wouldn't have any trouble finding yellow in India! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Amanda..it is a very popular color for saris and the other types of India dress.
DeleteIt is a very rich, mellow gold. Very apt.

Nuts in May
Hi Maggie May! It's so good to see you. I'm really beginning to miss India, home now for over two months. Getting ready for total shoulder replacement surgery on Friday...hopefully, back to India in May.

ReplyDeleteYellow is a favorite of mine, too....bright and cheerful. It's definitely a favorite in India.

Hi Glynis...so great to see you. I'm having total replacement surgery of my left shoulder on Friday...so I won't get back to India till mid-May, at least. I hope I don't gain back the 35 pounds I've lost!
