Camera Critters #146 & Weekend Reflections #70 - Dog Days - January 22, 2011

This picture was taken years ago, when I lived near Concord, Massachusetts.  It was a

very hot summer day and I had taken my son, Shawn, who was almost a year old, for a

picnic near the Concord Bridge.  I sat on the blanket, there on the banks of the river,

thinking that, perhaps, we were sitting on the very spot where British and American

soldiers had skirmished during the Revolutionary War.  It was very exciting to live for a

few years in ths cradle of U. S. history.

It was extremely hot that day and, when I walked out on the bridge, I noticed a Golden

Retriever standing in the water.  He remained there for some time, obviously trying to

cool off a bit.
